Got out at 7 this morning to do some jigging. Air temps 20 degrees, fairly windy, 12" of ice covered by another 6" of frozen slush. Target was giant bluegill. Fished 9' of water out to 18'. Only caught one bluegill and it was average size. Fortunately, I jigged up a couple of Largemouth Bass and three yellow perch that saved the day. One of the Yellow Perch was a new personal best, jigged up out of 18' of water with a diamond eye jig tipped with a waxworm. Here are a few photos from the morning, all catch and release. A blast with a tiny jig and 2 pound fluorocarbon.
