Gill Simmons on channel 8 was a bit giddy this morning. A snowmobiler at heart. The traffic girl was just rolling her eyes.

Fishing is a sport in which thinking is involved it is the covenant between nature and man, mother and son. Through fishing only can we recreate the link that has been tarnished throughout the existence of the modern era of mankind. Fishing is the answer yet people ignore it and consider it a "stupid" thing to do. What do these people do instead? They stare in front of color changing boxes. Is that life? My life is fishin

Keepin' my fingers crossed. We need cold for hunting, leading soon thereafter to ice for icefishing. Not asking for much, just a regular ol' winter!

I'm still hoping to have the brass to keep taking my little tin boat out right up to the hard water. going to start with some jigging up at mashapaug this weekend. If I can do my research now and find the holes now through early December maybe I can have a more productive year. I usually start the winter with about 10 lbs of filet's from spring/summer... not so this year. :(

With 20 knot winds and seas to 3 feet I'll put the yak to bed after getting my holiday hair cut. Shotgun season is around the corner and I'll be watching for ice.

Water temps are too warm for skim ice, still in the low 50's, high 40's.

We still have another month plus of open water fishing. ;)

I've seen a little hint of skim ice. Of course it was on someones tiny pond in their front yard. By tiny I mean 15 by 20 and at most 3 ft deep.

Now we're talkin'! Looks like a little warmup for a couple days, then some more cold next week. Things are moving in the right direction, good mojo is brewing.
