Added a GPS to my sled
« on: Aug 24, 2020, 07:03 PM »
I just bought a "new to me" sled for ice fishing this year and my first upgrade was to put a GPS on it. I use a Marcum Lx7 when I'm ready to fish.....but the GPS is going to help me find waypoints and trail system to navigate.

Super easy to do, and I feel better doing it!

I'm ready even if it's 92 degrees out right now.......

I took the Helix 5 off my boat last winter & made it into a portable unit ,so I could use the GPS . I use a Vex fl12 for fishing but w/ the Helix, I now have a backup  flasher if needed. Mounted it in an old tackle box & run the power off the battery that I use for my green light & interior LEDs .
"Yes officer, my chocolate lab did shoot me,with my brothers 12 gauge"!  11-8-87,true story!          "Sorry were late mom,Chris & me just got done with a cow hunt,we each got a big black Angus with our muzzleloaders"!  (the Christmas eve cow hunt w/ my son; 2004 !
