if it where an old rusted otu scale, it would create more resistance! the fish could weigh more then! ever think about that

LOL, good one.  But, that rust has likely been eating away at the metal for years, making it a hell of a lot weaker than new.  Ever think about that.

from what i heard (we fish the same lake where this was caught) this fish was a hefty 42" not 42 lbs. caught by rob wismer from hudson bay SK i think. big fish but probably not a 42#. we caught a 36.5#(weighed on a cert. scale) and would venture to say that fish is maybe in the 30#'s but not a 40#. still a beauty from one of the best pike lakes anywhere. Just happen to be going there for 5 days in two weeks time.

For sure ML, I would say that it was around 42 inches or so, but no where near 42 lbs.  The guy is holding out as close to the camera as he can and it still doesn't look like 42 lbs of fish.

It is a great fish, just not 42lbs.

as far i know the angler never claimed it was 42 lbs. was just a rumor that got around, was also rumored to be caught the third week in march when it was actually caught a couple weeks before.

Its a great fish, but I want to know who holds a 42lb fish arms fully extended away from their body ? Not I, and I'm 32 and in good shape.
Again its' great looking specimen but I thinks it's a far cry from 42lbs.
Personaly I think MeadowPikemans fish is bigger.
