Very cool, thanks for posting pictures. Not sure if I'll get around to it this season but I will definitely be building something like that for next season, I think the girlfriend would appreciate it as her main complaint about ice fishing is there is nowhere for her to pee, especially when theres a crowd around the shack. Haha.

Hey Rickl I'm using your grate idea this year at my shack. Great outhouse you bulit there. If your in an area with a few folks you can probably make a buck or to by charging the ladies admission.

Great idea on the outhouse/generator shack! I have a deer blind that's 4x8 and I'm thinking about doing the same thing now. Especially because I'm sitting in it right now and there are no deer ha. That grate is really a great idea too lol.

Wow Great build very neat and clean job...........Great job!!! I think the only thing i would change is the 2x4 you have to step over on entry and exit . It could lead to after a few beers or just forgetting about that its there a flying sail in or out of the shack. Im not saying that would not be realy funny to watch and place on you tube later lol.

Thanks Monadnock. No doubt that 2x4 is in the way a bit. Lol I think we were just "bracing things up"a bit...maybe a bit too much lol.
I'll have the camera runnin for sure for some youtube bloopers, and hopefully some nice fish too! Thanks for the comments!

I built one like yours last year and the only real big change I made in the off season was a big window across from my benchseat for watching tip-ups.Getting up and down to look out that small window at the back got to be a real pain(I have a window in the same spot).I'll try to post a few of my shack when I get back from work tonight.Nice job on the hut,show us what it looks like when your all done

It's 6' X 8' it's 7' high on one side and 6'6"on the side where the holes and the kerosine heater are.In the picture the bench is made into a bed but it is a two piece deal.The half closest to the door folds down for extra room.The only other things I would like to do are finish the inside walls and find a door with a window(one thats not to heavy)

This is my home made portable. It weighs a ton, but is roomy. its 4x8x6.5. I can stand up straight in it and it handles wind well. It sure gets a lot of looks from the pullover guys.

nice shacks fella!

This has been a two year project. I had it on the ice last year but made some more mods this year like carpeting, rattle reels, ect...Total I have just under 3000 bucks into it. Its a 6x12 ft v nose royal cargo trailer..It is an ice shack, atv hauler, ect... It isnt just limited to an ice shanty.....this post is picture heavy enjoy! Cant wait for the ice!
