What do you keep your jigs in
« on: Dec 01, 2013, 08:27 PM »
Just wondering what everyone keeps there jigs in. Fly boxes or the Plano boxes? I gotta get something better than a little tackle box.

I have used just about every tackle box, fly box out there to hold my jigs and they have all left something to be desired.  This year I bought two fly boxes called "bug luggage" and has been the norm they leave something to be desired.  They work and I like them for the most part but for my tiny panfish jigs (think 2.5mm fiskas) they won't hold them.  I am constantly having to put those little guys back in their spot when I open the things up.  Since they filled up pretty fast I think next year I am going ot breakdown and just buy the Rose Creek boxes from CJS, I have yet to hear a bad report about them.

got the solution tackle box for my bigger baits and some smaller ones. also got a calm box for my breast pocket. the flambeau boxes are not bad either if going for smaller jigs  here is a link to the solution tackle box.. since you already seen the flambeau boxes..

Best I have used, and I'm pretty sure it is so idiot proof that I will never be able to dump my jigs all over the ice ever again.

the clams work great the problem i have is with the foam in mine it fell out with jigs in it.  i got the extra small version of this with half lids and half foam. i just got to get some double sided tape  and install it again.  but how long will that fix last?

These are on sale right now.  Work great!

i ended out with some thing similar to this and it worked awesome got it the same time as my clam box...

i use a small flybox, with rippled foam to hold the hooks...works alright...if it gets bounced around in a pocket too long, there are some loose jigs floating around in there...

I have both the Rose Creek and the Bug Luggage. IMO the Bug Luggage is the better of the 2. I've never had an issue of any of my jigs coming loose in the Luggage but have had in the Rose Creek boxes. But I will say those Bug Luggage boxes can be tough to get open when your fingers are a little cold. All in all though those two boxes are the best out there.

For small jigs I really like the rose creek boxes. I have 2 of them and they work pretty good for me.

I have 3 of the clam ice armor boxes. Love em!!  Small enough to throw in a pocket when hole hopping and keeps things secure. Father in law was so impressed with  them we got him one for Christmas last year.

I recently purchased the double sided fly box mentioned above. (Cabelas) Didn't bother filling it because it was much too hard to close all the way due to the waterproof seal, IMO. I'm sure when it's cold it would be tougher.

I've been using these: http://shop.irideus.com/Irideus-Kenai-Large-Clear-Double-Side-Clear-Waterproof-FlFly-Box-010.htm

Got three I really like. The only downside is after a couple years the adhesive on the foam inserts wants to loosen occasionally (just on the "knockouts", not the "frames"). Been thinking of writing but haven't. Other than that they've been stellar. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clam models were from the same manufacturer.......

I got mine for about half of that listed retail on eBay....... Here's 3 on a BIN for $12 each:

I just bought one of these.  I see above that it could be hard to close, but it was a great deal and great ratings online too.  If I don't like it, then it won't cost me anything.  Shipping is free both ways right now.
