42* with some rain on the way. As of yesterday PM all the snow is gone in the yard. Still some in the woods. The moles did a number on yard out by the road. We have 2 pairs of geese hanging around. I think they are waiting for the water to come up so they can build a nest.
F/H4, nice looking greenhouse.
The visit from Lindsay and Rocky went well. We got pizza and wings so I don't have a lot of dishes to do.
Not much planned for today. The wife is feeling even better today but is going to take it easy one more day, at least.
Have a good one and stay well....h2l

Good Morning Everyone,
Cloudy 42* here on the Hill this am, winds are picking up 15-20, going to be a soggy day...high of 50.

H2...great news on your wife, glad you had a nice visit with Lindsay and Rocky!      What little snow is left around here should be gone by the days end. Best of luck on the lanes this evening!
Marv...cinnamon French toast and brown/serve sausages this morning,  ;D.  Sounds like you got a pretty busy few days ahead...best of luck with the tree work, be careful with the saws.
Jeff...safe travels today to your wife and Mother in law, hope they get out ahead of the rain coming.  Sorry to read you couldn’t get that last trip in for the crappies last evening. The ice went fast here this past week, local lake was wide open yesterday.
Spitz...agreed, spring time weather is a crazy time of year...guaranteed to see at least one more snowfall here yet as well.  :cookoo:
FH4...the greenhouse is looking real good, nice job!!   Will be looking forward to your growing season, best of luck with everything!
Wally...omelets were on the menu yesterday morning,  ;D.  Hope you and Mr.WW got another nice ride in yesterday!     Is the bakery back to work today?
Capt.J...hope you’re having safe travels back to NJ...best wishes sent your way!
OG...couldn’t agree more, but at this time I have more obstacles on my path than I can hurdle at the moment, :woot:   Any ice left on the lakes out your way?
Bud...that was good news on your roommate testing negative, hope you’re both feeling better today!   Best of luck getting that stimulus check soon, believe there is a number or site you can access to find out about it...a few guys at work haven’t received theirs yet either.
Steve... yes, finally they have loosened the reins on restrictions at the nursing homes! Things are looking brighter...I do have a a scheduled visit on April 1st that I am so looking forward to...keeping fingers crossed!
Dave...glad you caught that bad wheel bearing before it let loose, very good catch!!   Hope the trailer is all ready now and you get a chance to run some of that flooring today...have a safe trip Sir!!

Looking like some board games will be on the list today as well as starting some more seeds for the garden with the grandchildren. Spent a few hours yesterday getting the raised beds in shape, have quite a few garlic popping up already that were planted last fall.
Quick trip to the transfer station this am and then we’ll see where it goes from there....Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good Morning ER's  a little nippy here today with a wind kicker. Eddie enjoy your visit with your mother. There is no more ice here people are lining the banks for a crappie bite that has been going on for a bit. Just got back from casino open 24 hours a day. I brought home close to one hundred in winnings. Last time before this they drew my name for promotion; throw a ball in sand pail then next farthest until you win one thousand in last pail. I hit every shot except the last one short off the rim but still bagged 800.00 Time to buy some gear     Have a good day all.

27F and sunny today. Winds are gusting pretty good at 35-40 mph though.
Got the second load of flooring out to the cabin and got Thursdays load on the trailer and ready to go.
Sitting in front of the tube watching hockey and waiting for the Advil to take effect.
Being sick for so long really killed my strength and stamina. Going to take a bit to build it back up.
Maybe after I haul 3,000 sq ft of pine I'll be in better shape. Have to see the lumber guy and find out when it's coming in.
Have only got a couple more months of ice left.

Thanks for all the greenhouse the wife likes it just need to get the gap at the top sealed in and then should be warming up in there. Hit 66 in the house when we got home from the lake so it is building some heat. Oh and the lake was good to us today. Lost a few and caught other ones. Water temp was 39 to 41 degrees on this lake while the big lake still has ice and not enough water to boat could almost still ice fish it. Have a good end of the weekend and start to the work week.

Good evening a Blessed Passover to all who celebrate the holiday. Rain and more seasonal temperatures today after a couple days of sunshine and highs in the low seventies. I did not see any newspaper reports of structures fires so guessing the two fire department calls the other day were for downed trees and power lines. Store busy past few days as folks purchased items for the start of Passover and Easter.
IFF may you and your roommate be doing better.
Capt.JIM may you have a safe trip to New Jersey.
SpitzoMT thank you for answering my question about your place of employment.
Ice Wanderer sorry to read your ice fishing season has ended. May your wife and MIL have reached Vermont safely.
Hunts2long good to read your wife is feeling better with each passing day. May your brother and nephew have had a good weekend of maple sap collection and syrup production.  Glad you did not have to be the dishwasher after dinner with Lindsay. IF either pair of geese makes a nest near your property enjoy watching the goslings grow.
Wallyworld hope Mr.WW was not to busy the other day with service calls due to the windy weather. May you not see to much snow on Wednesday. Is the bakery starting up to produce treats for a trip to your son and his family over Easter weekend.
Fish/hunt4ever nice job on the green house may it help you extended your growing season. Congratulations on a good day of walleye fishing.
Eddie may you get to see your mom on the first of April. Hope the grandchildren enjoyed the board games and seed planting.
Old Goat congratulations on your casino winnings. Have fun if you get out for the Crappie bite.
Drifter good to read you got the trailer repaired and most of the flooring is now at the cabin. May you feel less tired and sore after a night's rest.

A good and safe night to everyone.

Good Evening,

OG WTG

Dave, that's what I have been wondering, how your getting your materials out to Cabin, see its over the ice.  Hope you can get it all out there with no sit backs.

Felt petty good today even got out for a morning of fishing open water, Room mate got a negative test report but still under the weather.  First trip in buddies boat, all be it not all his batteries were up to the task.

Now for the rest of the story today, got notified I need to go get another covid-19 negative test done, before I can return to work.  Even though I have already had my second vaccination back on March 7th.  Guess they are trying to figure out if I might be asymptomatic ???? Well now there's another 2-3 days off. Guess I will be fishing again tomorrow.

Had a nice supper with the kids
now find computer doing strange things

Good Morning Everyone,
34* with strong WNW winds, 25-40mph, high of 40 here today.

Bud... glad you got a fishing trip in, Cherry Creek Reservoir?  That sucks about losing a few more days of work waiting on results, but guess the company is looking out for what is best for everyone. This new normalcy...I better quit before I get into a rant. Best of luck with today’s fishing and a negative test result Sir!
Steve...the grandchildren had a good time, kind of stunk that they were confined to the house all day yesterday due to weather, but made the best of it.
FH4...congratulations to you both on a fine catch of walleyes, awesome job!! Thanks for sharing the picture and best of luck finishing up the greenhouse!
Dave...sorry to read your still feeling the effects of that dang virus, hope you’re feeling better today Sir! Great job on getting the flooring out to cabin, that had to be a workout...  When do you figure ice out will be...sometime around late May??
Wally...I saw snow possibly this week also...figures, right on time for the trout opener!   :%$#!:
OG...congratulations on cashing in at the casino, well done!!   :flex:
Marv...hope you have a safe day with the firewood project!
Jeff...hope your wife and MIL had safe travels yesterday.
H2...how did the lanes treat you last evening?

Glad we’re still working inside,  that wind would be a real PITA to deal with today!! Believe today will be our last pour of the terrazzo unless things have changed. Have been working on a letter to send to our Lieutenant Governor, bypassing the Governor, to see if helps preserve our jobs. More than likely, it will fall on deaf ears and thrown out, but, it’s worth a shot anyway....and we’ll go down swinging!!
  Cawfee’s on...
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

                 Good morning Eddie, ER's,
It's 33* and very windy here on my hill. ::)
Eddie........It's always a bummer when it rains when watching the grandkids, makes you house bound.
Bud..........That's unfortunate that you have to go through another Covid test and wait , I guess that's going to be a new norm.
H2l...........I'll be checking in later to see how you did on the lanes last night.
Marv.........You have a good day at your sisters, don't over do the wood splitting. :flex:
Fish..........Good job on the walleyes.
Wally.........And I thought we were done with the snow, just to let you know back on May 9th, 1977 we had 18", the next day it was 80* :cookoo:
OG............It's always nice to beat the casino once in a while, odds are in their favor. :o
Dave.........I bet it was a job getting all that flooring out to the cabin.
I guess spring is really here, we found some ants in the master bath the other day, I tried ant traps but they didn't work. So after my wife left
I fumigated the house with Raid bombs. I took the cat and visited #1 and #2 sons for a while. Had to be out of the hose for 3 hours at first, then
come home and open windows for an hour before we could settle back in the house. It seemed to work.
Not much on the planner today.
I hope everyone has a good Monday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

33* and very windy.
FH4, nice looking walleyes. Season doesn't open here until 1st of May.
Mr. C, we usually have 3 or 4 families of geese around here in the summer, plus the ducks.
The bowling was not good to us last night. Lost all 4 points. We didn't bowl very good and they had a couple get pretty HOT. That team has given up problems in the past and now we will be bowling them week after next. If they win that, then they will win 2nd half, so that will mean a best of five roll-off.
Have a good day and be well...h2l

Good Morning Everyone !!

20° at the house this morning with stiff winds & light snow. Forcasted to hit 31° today.

The wind howled all night & the snow started about 0130. I'm hearing that there was a 54mph gust here. The power flickered on/off about 6 times during the night & I think I got about 2 1/2 hours of sleep. Not a good way to start the work week, so it will probably be a long day haha.

Hope you all had a great weekend, have a great day & STAY SAFE N' HEALTHY !!

Good morning everyone

41 heading to 70 by the afternoon. Unfortunately the wind which is now 25mph will be gusting to 50mph. My wife and I just returned from a short walk and the wind is already brutal.

Eddie.... Hope your letter helps, it certainly worth a try

IW... Hope the ant bomb stiffens the little buggers up

WW.... Great news about your heading East on Friday

Bud... Best of luck with the walleyes!

My splitting got delayed by 1 day. My sister asked if I could postpone for a day due to the rain they had last week. She said there was still standing water by the wood on Saturday, so was hoping maybe the warm day along with the wind would dry things up some by tomorrow.

Hope you all have a good day  Stay safe and stay healthy.

Well the wind is brutal here today as well, sustained winds in the 30 to 40 mph and gusts as high as 60, so will not climb up and put the ridge cap on today.

The nice thing out here is we do not have open and closed seasons on fishing, most of the state is open year around, just some lakes have special regulations that stop fishing at certain times.  So anyone out and about and want to catch some walleye they will most likely be good to go for the next few weeks, just have to let the lake calm a few days after the wind storm so hopefully I will be out again Friday as we have the day off for Good Friday. Unless I am finishing up the greenhouse.

Well stay safe and have a good week.

Same here as far as seasons go.
The lake my cabin is on has a river that is closed in the fall for spawning whitefish and lake trout on the lake are C&R from Sept 1st to Oct 30th during the spawn.

Got off lake before the 30mph wind arrived along with the gusts to 50, only one walter to the boat   Beat feet home to repair his windshield that had come out of its frame.  Got my noise poked now have to wait for results.

Had to re-submit info for a background check.  Only 3 time doing that, advised manager if I have to do it again, I may turn suicidal.  ;D

Good Morning Everyone,
Clear and 27* this am, winds have calmed down, high of 58 today.

Bud...best wishes on a negative result!  Glad you guys made it off the water before the winds arrived. Best of luck today if heading back out!
Dave...hope you’re starting to feel better, did you pick up that new beast side X side yet?
FH4...your state is very lenient on the fishing...just about everything that swims here in NY other than panfish seems to have a season, lol.   ;D
Marv...have a safe day with the saws today...hopefully you won’t need the waders!
Spitz...the power flickered here as well yesterday morning before I hit the road, lost power for about 6 hours shortly after. Hope you made it through the day ok.
H2...best of luck with the next matchup, we’ll be pulling for ya!     Is the reservoir filling up pretty good now?
Wally...it was snowing here yesterday morning when I left, no accumulation thankfully! That’s great news on the vaccinations, will be looking forward to seeing what the bakery has planned for the trip!!
Jeff... hope the ant problem is under control, they can be a real PITA to deal with...best wishes.

Got the letter finished last evening for what it’s worth, will get that over to the post office located in the State Capitol Building at break today and see if it can be delivered immediately.
Today is our foreman’s last day of work, he opted to take another position with a different contractor so won’t be finishing out the remainder of our time left. Having pizza and wings delivered today for lunch for a send off.    Time to get moving again...Cawfee’s on!

                  Good morning Eddie, ER's,
It's 26* and clear here on my hill. a high of 57* today. ::)
Eddie.......When I worked for a construction company they had a policy "No notice needed, No notice given" they didn't want
workers leaving before the jobs were done. I hope you enjoy the pizza and wings.
Bud.........I guess getting off the water before the wind started was a good idea.
H2l..........I'm sorry to read that your team lost 4 points, I hope you can regain some ground next week.
Wally.......When it got light I saw that we had a dusting here, not something I want to see. :%$#!: The weather guessers are say some snow
accumulation on Thursday for some.  :cookoo:
Marv........I hope it has dried up enough at your sisters so you can get the wood split. :flex:
Fish.........I hope you enjoy the 3 day weekend coming up, I hope you can get out for some more eyes.
Not much going on here today, it is still too soggy in my yard to do any clean up plus still patches of snow.
I hope everyone has a good Tuesday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Good morning Eddie, IW! Good morning everyone

35 degrees with a stiff north wind at 23mph and gusts to over 40mph. The high may reach 40, big difference from yesterdays 70.

Eddie... Enjoy the wings. Best of luck getting the letter delivered and read

IW....Enjoy the quiet day. I am sure you will find some indoor puttering

WW....Like Eddie, looking forward to seeing "What the baker is baking"

Haven't decided if I am heading to my sisters or putting it off another day. Not much else I can do outdoors with the wind howling like it is, so it's time to break out the "Magic 8-Ball"

Hope everyone has a good day  Stay safe and stay healthy.

Good Morning ER's  Eddie, Marv

Eddie nope on heading out today, almost afraid to look out side, I thing winds may have rearranged the neighborhood, I have never been kept away with the noise of winds making bedroom windows whistle, groan like that before.

Not sure what is going to be on tap for today, right off first thing, was not internet access.  One of my email accounts is not available, not sure what's up with that.

Guessing the reason for the additional test was my  first back back in there were several at the store that tested positive and even though I have been vaccinated I could be asymptomatic, and host the virus, which it was reported not to be the case.  So the game and misinformation goes on.

Will be attending the what was usual family gathering East Sunday, and for warned one family member may not be there, sounds like a possible divorce is in the works.

Tuned in to exhibition baseball, and didn't recognize any of the Colorado Rockies players, know there have been some trades, but have not kept up on who is still with the squad

Marv, so my winds are already up your way, calm at the moment here.

Crap, now its snowing.

now off to fight with the email.  Take care all.

Bud

26* and clear, the wind is gone this morning.
Eddie, the lake has come up about 4 to 5 feet. Still has about 13 feet to go.  Most of the ice is gone down to the campsite and islands. On Sunday most of the main lake still was ice covered.
The wife is still taking it pretty easy. Every since I got my 2nd shot I have felt like I have a slight head cold. Not sure it is related to the shot or maybe just the season change. Other than that I feel fine.
Hope everyone has a good day and be safe...h2l

Good Morning Everyone !!

15° at the house with very light snow flurries & a dusting of snow on the truck. Looks like it's headed to a whopping 32° today.

The wind finally simmered down last night at about 1900. Two solid days of those winds is enough for me. The weather is suppose to start getting nice Thursday & I noticed some high 50's & a 60 in the forecast. Bring it on.....I'm ready.

Busy day at work today, so I best finish this coffee & get after it. Hope you all have a great Tuesday & STAY SAFE N' HEALTHY !!

Eddie
Not quite yet. Am signing on the dotted line later today.
Had to wait for some of the $$$$ dad left me so I could put down a big deposit on it.
Working on insurance now so I can take it home when the paperwork is done.
Then I need to get it plated.
Might not all happen until next week as I'm heading out to the cabin for 5 days starting on Thursday.
  ;D
Hopefully get the ceiling insulation finished and maybe get my trail from lake to cabin widened so the new toy can make it up there.   ;)2

Good evening everyone

What a windy #$%&^#$.

WW....I consulted the Magic 8-ball this morning and it's response as to whether I should go split wood was " As I see it, yes". So I spent just under 4.5 hours splitting and a couple more sawing. The good news I cracked close to a cord, the bad news it will be a night on the ice pack.

Tomorrow I plan round 2. Just not sure how early it will be lol

Hope everyone has a good evening  Stay safe and stay healthy.

I have one of them fancy powered splitter things ;D

It's an old war lord. I bought it in 1980. Some of the newer ones have about the same power in a much smaller package.

I was looking for a picture of it but couldn't find any. I will take a new one if I remember tomorrow.

Good evening wind speed a little lower then yesterday but still a breezy day outside with high temperature in the low sixties. Rain coming tomorrow afternoon into Thursday possible light snow in higher elevation areas of the Catskill mountain region. Forecast high for Thursday is only in the forties. While not common I have seen early April snow storms . Just a friendly reminder to all going out in a boat this time of year wear a PFD I saw a news article about two members of Iowa state University's crew team died after their racing boat capsized during training on Sunday. There were five students total on the boat. the accident is still under investigation as to why the boat capsized. Also to my fellow New Yorkers if you plan to do some trout fishing once the season opens on April 1St check the DEC's website there are new regulations with regards to possession limits on rivers and streams.
IFF hope your roommate is turning the corner on their Illness. Good you were able to get off the lake befor the winds picked up on Sunday. May your test come back negative so you can start working.
Eddie may your letter get through and make a difference. Guess your foreman believes it will be a long layoff. Glad you had a good weekend with the grandchildren in spite of the rain.
Ice Wanderer hopefully you do not see any more ants inside your home. I think there are now laws in place saying companies must give notice if any layoff involves a certain percentage of the work force.
wallyworld may you have the supplies need for baking  and any snow you receive be a low number of inches. A safe trip to the two of you.
Hunts2long must be noisy at times outside your house in the Spring/Summer when the geese project their young from other geese and predators . may next Sunday be a better night for your bowling team.
SpitzoMT hope you were able to make up some of the missed sleep time. It was howling here at times on Monday.
Fish/hunt4ever may you be able to install the ridge cap on the green house. Enjoy the three day weekend best to you with any fishing.
Whopper Stopper remember the Ben-Gay before heading to bed. may all go well with the remaining wood splitting.
Drifter good to hear things are coming together and you will have the side by side soon and can get it out to the cabin before ice starts breaking down. may you get the insulation work completed along with the trail widening.
OldSailor,Tomturkey may all be good with you and your families.
Icefisher-45 hope you and the wife are having a good week.

Have a good night.
 Steve
