1/31/09 Panfish & Bass
« on: Jan 31, 2009, 02:38 PM »
Fished today from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Was a decent day even though the fish were not biting very good. We caught 5 crappies all keepers, 3 perch two keepers, 5 gills one keeper, and 3 bass around 13 inches which were all released.

Fish mostly fell for deadsticking minnows, but a few were caught on waxworms too.

Got to love that deadsticking...at times will out produce jigging by a large margin...

I know, we just started doing that the last few weeks. We used to use slip bobbers but it seems like we catch more without them, and it's less of a hassle.

Kenny I don't live far from millbury. I am new here and looks like you know what your doing. Have you ever fished Olander in Sylviana before? I am going there tomorrow.

Welcome to Iceshanty.

No, I've never fished there before. But I have heard there is gills, perch and bass in there, along with the trout they stock. I usually fish in Michigan or Indiana, because of the lack of lakes around here. Let me know how you do there tommorrow.

Good to see more and more people joining from Ohio,

Kenny
