« on: Nov 25, 2014, 01:50 PM »
Ok guy's I started fishing this lake last season with little to no luck the for crappie and I know they are in there somewhere in the lake just not to sure where to start looking for them as I am use to fishing small bodies of water but when i come to big lakes I am lost the water is crystal clear with alot of weeds on the west and east end any pointer on where to start to find these crappie would be helpful I just bought a marcum LX-9 with some help I am sure I can find them

Look for weeds with access to deeper water. If the water is crystal clear you might need a fluorocarbon leader. Also try an hour before and after  sunrise and sunset. Those are just the basics things with any new body of water it's all about the hunt and watch where others are fishing and what they are using.

Never tried a fluorocarbon leader and as for other people fishing it there are not to many that venture out from the island channels to the main lake but not to many bluegill or crappie get caught more pike and bass during mid and late winter it dies of due to the fact it is only about three foot deep in the channels so I was thinking that they might go suspended in the bassin

I have always had luck getting to the lake an hour or so before dark and drill a bunch of holes...
Start hole hopping and once it gets dark you will find the hole with them....

I dont know anything about that lake but the ones I fish I find them in 8 to 13 feet of water in the evening right well past dark...
