Title: Putting together an After dark jig box
Post by: Ridgehunter2002 on Jan 25, 2016, 02:00 PM
I am just getting started night fishing for crappies, and wanted to put together a box of GLOW crappie jigs at night.  What jigs are your go to for crappies at night?

Some lakes, the red glows produces while others the green glows produces.  Sometimes the glow plastics produces.

Glow Red jig but Glow Blue does have its place. Mix and match glow plastics on them until a preference is found and sometimes how intense the glow is effects them. Have times when bright/brilliant gets smacked immediately at others it needs to tone down to just barely glowing to get hit despite them being down there on the flasher. No idea why. Glow Red seems to be the most consistant.

That's for sure, sometimes the brightest glow isn't the best producer.  Often times I'm finding that while night fishing, I may need to upgrade lure size.  Mainly spoon size, cuz it does get more attention from fish and they do seem more willing to bite the larger size as well.
