This was the only ice report I've seen.  I'm headed there Friday, anxious to get out there, but nervous about the ice...

In the inlet the ice was 6-8 inches

I was wondering this as well.  Thankfully it's getting down below freezing again during the night.

Saturday the ice just NE of the light house was about 8 to 10 inches dont know what the ice did with the warm weather though.
I'm still looking at the right side of the ice, I hope!?

It was about the same off the boat ramp on the inlet side.  Thicker on the NW side on the lake.  Didnt have much luck though.

Yikes, that doesn't sound encouraging at all.  Hopefully things will be different in a few days...

it isnt supposed to get above freezing for 2 days, so we might luck out. i think it will be okay as long as everything stays capped over anyway. i doubt we'll see ice on the city ponds again this year unless it gets really cold though

Hi All,

I was on Minatare this afternoon.  The ice was fine, about 8" thick and not really melting that bad.  The cold the next couple days should make it even better.  With that said, I was only on one area of the lake (east of the point over 33 ft water), so some areas might not be as good as where I was.  Please, always be careful and check as you go if you are uncertain of the ice!  Fished for two hours without a bite.

Good fishing,
Keith

stopped by tonight right at sunset just to try out the new auger. ice was 10 to 15 inches thick. i only fished for about ten minutes but caught one perch about 6" and missed a few others. then had a hit that about took the pole out of my hand and broke the line. decided to head out then. one other guy caught a 16" walleye and a few perch also.

I fished yesterday (Sunday) and the ice was plenty good. I didn't find any that was less than 5". I wouldn't have taken an ATV out but I'm sure we'll gain some more ice over the next few days. Long range forecast looks good for the ice too.

Really slow for me on Sunday. One wiper and a couple small perch.
