Weather forecast is looking up!

I may be overly optimistic, but I was on ice Dec 12 of last year in NE Nebr and hope to do the same this year.

According to the 10 day, its basically going to be making ice all day long. Only a few days of highs above freezing and that'll only be for an hour or so at the most.

May the winds be calm and the temps be cold.

They were fishing Wherspan by the 3rd week of December last year also...not me, wasn't thick enough for this fat guy!

Im gonna try like heck to get on this weekend.  Colder'n heck up here now.  Single digits tonight.  Theres a decent chance of gettin on a couple ponds around here.  Will take caution and a rifle for backup in case calling coyotes seems like a better 0ption than falling in.

well im planning on going on wednesday(maybe tuesday also)...figure should have atleast 3 inches of good solid ice by than.  havent decided yet whether to head to the refuge or all the way up to smith.  anybody that gets out this weekend in the sandhills let me know how the ice is and of course how the fishing was.  keep your line tight and your powder dry on your first ice adventures!

Hey double T,

Havent been up there yet.  Cant get down the dirt roads right now they are snowed in.  Im suspecting maybe hit it up next weekend.  How's life down south? Have to hit up Summit some time.
