GOATBOY WEEKEND 2023

For the first time in years we are changing our weekend from the last weekend in January to the first weekend in March. We went to rent the house in October for January and found out it was already booked for that weekend and the whole month of February. I think we will just give the homeowner a deposit in March for the end of January the next year. And continue to do that to make sure we get our weekend every year. Who knew!!

Looks like one of our buddies is going again this year after missing the last couple of years. Alba is back in da house!!!

Early ice doesn't seem likely Billy. We have some warm weather coming up the end of this week. But all my gear is ready to go!!

Fished Pine River Pond 2 weeks ago with my brother and nephew. 5-6 inches of ice. My brother got a decent bass in front of the house about 3 plus.  Been making ice since then.

So glad to hear that! I don't think we will get any local icefishing in this year.But I'm ready!

Actually heading back up the week before Goatboy weekend with the wife in the middle of the week for 2 days. Will find out then how much ice is there again.

Just got back from Pine River Pond with the wife. Only fished a little, but caught perch, large mouth and a nice smallie. There is 11 inches of ice with cold weather coming all week. They also got about 8 inches of snow. Dave and Billy won't be there till later Friday, so they will probably only be able to fish Saturday. Looking forward to our annual trip and seeing some of the boys I only see once a year. Plus Alba will be there for the first time in 4 years!

Our buddy Mugz was going to surprise the guys and come up Saturday with his son, but because of the weather he isn't going to make it. But he says they are in for next year!                                                     BJ

Another fun Goatboy weekend. Like I said Mugz and his son couldn't make it because of the weather. Alba was there for the first time in about 4 years. Slow fishing with Gregga catching a 2/6 Bass for biggest fish. There was about a foot of snow first day with slush underneath it. Same thing next day with another 8-10 on top of the other snow. Walking in knee deep snow with slush underneath is the worst. Lots of fun and laughs as usual. Even though I only see these guys once a year, it's like I see them every day when we get together. Don't miss a beat. Very lucky to have friends like that. No pics from me this year. Had to concentrate on staying up and not sliding into the slush!
