Been on a few lakes today and the normal late winter spots are void of any fish.It might be me but it’s awefully slow

It's been up and down for me. The bite started off terrible here the first week or so of ice, was generally pretty good last week, but it's been pretty slow again this week.

cold front after cold front will do that.

I'd still rather have cold fronts and slow fishing than heat waves and no ice  :icefish:

Last sunday the bite was on for me... went back wednesday night and it was a total ghost town.  No idea where they went... and the ones I marked didn't really want to bite.

That cold front really had them shut down here Wednesday. It was -12° when I left the house that morning. Fished 8am-1pm and only landed 8 gills. The fish were stacked up on the bottom and very negative. Took a lot of jigging to entice bites.

It was slow for me last night. I was in Lagrange County. Not even any bass on tipups from 2:00 to 4:30pm. Then two flags and a gill all at the same time. Caught two nice bass and kept a dozen gills. No pike again this trip.
On a super positive note, the buggy folks have not been out this year. The neighbors are all pretty happy about that. Apparently someone filled their main parking area full of roofing nails last year. Maybe they got the hint that trespassing isn't cool.
Heart in Michigan. Stuck in Indiana.

Way less people out around here too this year. Last year was absolutely bananas, never seen so many people on the ice locally as I did 2020/21. So much garbage was getting left on the ice and in parking areas I was honestly a bit concerned I'd lose access to some of my usual haunts.

I guess the covid ice fishing fad died off this year because people either weren't catching, or didn't like the cold  ;D Not complaining either way, it's been nice getting back to peace and quiet again this season.

*added 545pm*

Fished 3pm-5pm... dead slow until about 430, then the bite picked up a bit.
