Yes, Virgina, there ARE dumb questions!!

Like the the guys----yes, plural,--- on another Canadian site who keep asking what the black flies are like out there right now. !!aaarrgg. Mind you, one guy nailed down the area he was interested in ----Northwestern Ontario!! ;D An area about as big as a Texas or New England!!

My question would be---Are you new here. This is Canada. There will be black flies, and when they go 'off shift there will be others to take their place!1 mosquitoes, deer flies. Yes, we have a varied menu!! As they say, up here in the Great White North there are 2 seasons---snow flies and black flies!! If you want to surrender several weeks of our short summer to the black flies, goodie for you!! There will be fewer people out there.

There are always questions that are asked repeatedly, this isn't anything new on this site or MFF and others  but we do have a choice,  ignore or try and explain the question at hand the best we can , every day is 1 closer to ice

While we are at it, let's explain (again) to everyone, that black flies are not ankle biters, though my ankles above the sock line are currently well bitten by black flies.  Now what I really want to know, is when is the mayfly hatch?
