Well for the frustrated, Dunkirk harbor has browns, and area streams (when they clear0 have steelhead, and I had the kayak out this week on Erie for smelt.  There is fishing, just gotta be creative.

With this rain does anyone know if there is even any ice left on chatauqua. It's not looking too promising.

Hey guys,,,

I know for a fact that burtis in 7FOW has 5 Inches.

There's also guys at Long Point but do not know the ice thickness because I don't have a partner to walk out with yet.

I'm looking for tomorrow hitting long point.

Currently snowing like crazy with near white outs.

There's another web cam available at the Chautauqua Lake snowmobile clubs website......If you click on the Watermark they host a camera,,,,but it only lets 9 people on at a time and if someone loads it and doesn't close it out,,,,they burn up available space.

I will admitt however that I can not get it to work ever on my new Dell.

The president of the club verify's that its up and working,,,its just my dell,,,Good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

creel we didn't catch anything on burtis yesterday, ice was nice...shoreline is getting beat up . Ended up at more local waters later in the day and did very well on perch 12 @ 10"+ and another 12  between 8 1\2-10" . Biggest was 11". Ice got very scary while we were out . Just as many dinks also

Heard some talking about a guy drilling a bunch of holes with a 12 inch auger.  Wow, that is a big auger for Burtis bay.  Need to be super careful walking around with holes like that.  I have not had any problems with my 4 inch Fiska!

What's up with that webcam on Burtis? My friend was there at 10:30 this morning and said there were 25 huts out there and I looked on the camera and didn't see a soul???

you mentioned a 12in auger....if there isn't one, then there should be a law restricting the size of the auger to 8'' or less.  last year, at Mayville, I stepped in somebodies crusted over hole, with a size 12 ice armor boot.  luckily, I caught myself before falling forward and snapping my leg!  Even a small kid could fall through a hole that big!

If any of the individuals lets just say that I found fishing north of the bridge today could share there found ice thickness it would be greatly appreciated.....I won't bother to list the locations I saw being fished........I will say however I think the guys fishing near the snug harbor creek outlet are crazy fools!!!!! I see open water a ways out and just south of it,,,,and i mean just south....a few guys sitting!!!!!  Must have helium in their suits!!!

yeah there is no need for a 12 inch auger out there my buddy went in over his knee, then i found 2 more and put the auger through the inch of ice that formed in the hole with snow you could not really tell they were there

With all the goofy laws on the board in NY, that would actually make sense to have a 8 inch and under rule.  I know some states have it already.  I don't know what a person is thinking having a hole that big.

I dont think they make a 12 inch auger. You sure it's not a 8 or 10 that was ate out by the rain and warm weather? That's what it looked like to me.

my 8 year old son fell threw a 12inch musky fishing hole on the ice last year and he went down in the water all the way to his stomach. extremely scary. i had to bring him all the way back home in erie then come back and fish the rest of the day cause he was getting hypothermia from the freezing water.
