Anyone put anthing on their shelter zippers to make them slide better?? Paraffin, bees wax, salad dressing, I don't know. It seems my new pop up shelter zippers are a bit sticky.
Thank for your thoughts.

Paraffin, candle wax, ski wax or bees wax.
I just take an old (unlight) candle and rub it along both sides of the zipper then run the zipper along a couple of times to work it in the teeth a bit.
I also do this to the poles and push button retaining pins at the begining of the season.

Thanks PUN, I appreciate the reply.

Good old Water Displacing Formula 40 (wd-40) makes the zipper slide nice.

I've used all the above including: Vasiline with a small brush.

I bought a tube of stuff called "Zipper Lube" at the Milwaukee Sport show a few years ago. At first glance I thought it sounded like something you'd see at an adult novelty store, but it works pretty well.

I have been using Chapstick (plain) on the poles and zippers of my shacks. Works good, and no staining the frabic.

Rubbing them with a bar of soap works great too.
