iv got a german shepherd I bring out with me once and while if the conditions are right. if its wet she doesn't like it. if its glare ice she doesn't like it. but if its just snow on the ice she will stay out there all day. shes at the point now that if she sees a flag go up she runs to it before we do its pretty funny.

thats cool haha thanks my dog loves the water that was kinda another reason i havent brought him,

Not the island the sagamore is on. I would say crown then. It wasn't that pretty out there the ice was a bad color. I didnt get real close since I was out there alone. You aren't getting out into the deep water there but you might make it around the sagamore and get to dome if you are careful.
thanks. Have no intention of headinf out toward crown.. was just wondering if  it had spead to olose to my honey holes.i should be in business.appreciate the  info. Priceless stuff

In regards to the public areas with bubblers is there a better alternative/technology out there? Something practical and inexpensive that the town/DEC could get behind, maybe like a heat tape that could attach to the dock and keep the ice away a foot or two instead of 20 or 30 ft. allowing for solid ice to build and provide access that last longer and hopefully reduces the cut through on private property issue. Just looking for way to improve access and spread everyone out so one spot doesn't get hammered with parking issues etc.

Thanks to all who post good info and to those I've encountered on the ice for sharing their knowledge & letting me jig right next to them as their on a hot hole. Nothing but good, the handful of times I was lucky enough to get out.

I cant believe what I have read on here being a fishermen is not all about catching fish it's a way of life be a friend not a foe. Teach people to fish as your teaching them show them respect  for people  Mother Nature  the respect of someone's property to many people care about themselfs. Or there secret hole  I'm just as good as the next guy but with respect

I talked to 2 different landowners that will be putting in ice eaters because people won't stop crossing there yard even though there are posted signs up.    Anyways.  Heading back up to George in the morning for some lakers.

I'm going to try the access off of Assembly Point this morning...I'll report back here later.  I'm not too confident of the shoreline with all of the rain and warm air we've had this week.

Walked from Assembly Point to Long Island, then walked across the island and continued towards Canoe.  The ice is still plenty thick, about 12 inches in most spots, and the shore is holding up for now but it's showing signs of weakening.  There's a couple of inches of slush on top and water is pooling in some areas.  I would urge caution.  Perch were super finicky today.

Still good access at Bixby, but the bubbler undercut is getting closer. Fished there today. Big waste of time!

Fished Basin Bay this afternoon. Two chain pickeral left to rot laying on the ice. I've seen the same thing with sun fish. Don't be a slob! If you don't want it put it back in the lake!

If you don't want the fish release them back into the water.. or give them to somebody fishing next to you.  What a waste and upsetting scenerio when I go on the ice and see gils etc left on the ice that people did not want. Catch and release in grease or back in the lake.... Oh and about the garbage that was left next to the fish you left!!! Grrrrr

Just as info only, access at Huddle Bay Road should be absolutely shot by now.  Tried to get on there last Monday and wasn't able to.
