A good day with the lakers.
« on: Mar 13, 2005, 07:02 PM »
Went out with a buddy for some lakers in the great white north (& I don't mean Colorado).

Saw a moose along the way.

Of course we had to stop for some burbot action too.

I've been waiting to see some of those Lakers from your area, and those are nice ones.   You really got into the burbot also. Nice wildlife shots. Looks like you're pretty close. Is that a Marten in the tree? Something like that would be long gone before I'd be able to get a picture of him. I'm surprised to see bare ice. Where's all the snow? Great pics, keep em coming.

Big lakers, great scenery. Is that in British Columbia?

Do the leaves of trees stay greener, in the autumn, does the colour of the sun, turn crimson white? Does a shadow come between us, in the winter?

Yes it is British Columbia Mikepike. I find this area not so nice to fish because of the mountain pine beetle. As you can see in some of the 1st pic there is some red trees. Those are decaying pine trees.
Those are marten pics.
The snow has been disappearing alot lately. Weather guys say the snow pack is 30% of normal levels in the mountains (in some areas).  I'm worried we may get some forest fires this summer. Ice is still thick though.

Nice big fatty lakers by the way Terry. We are getting the same snow pack results down in Southern Alberta. 30% of regular snowpack. Going to be a long summer with no campfires AGAIN! >:( :'( :'(

I watched on the news I think it was the governer of Montana I think already has a water ban on now because of the snow pack in the Rockies.

Expect a lot of forest fires this year boys................ >:( >:( >:(

Can't believe you don't have any snow on the ice. We're getting killed in New England.  ???

No smelt in my neck of the woods. The one did have a kokanee in its stomach. Yeah no snow. I guess thats global warming for you.
Yes I love eating burbot. You just made me hungry VC.
