Title: Fished Phillips lake in Dedham today.
Post by: Jack978 on Feb 22, 2021, 07:00 PM
Conditions were pretty good but the fish didn't cooperate.  One mangled smelt, one flag and nothing on the ice.  There were several other groups out and one group had 5 vehicles on the ice at one time parked around their shack.  There is over a foot of ice but I always walk and don't take any chances since I don't want to captain a sub anytime soon.  I turned 64 today and perhaps walking isn't a bad thing since I still can.  Never did figure out why someone would ride 50 feet to a trap but then again I suppose I'm strange that way.

Happy 64th, you must be doing something right! Phillips can be slow but sure is a pretty place to fish and a damn fine way to spend a birthday.

Happy Birthday!  I turned 65 a few days before your day.  We're on the same page.  I always walk out.....peaceful, quiet, and doesn't seem to hurt the catch rate much.
