I know it's been warm with alot of rain  does anyone know how the lake looks? Hoping it's not over already!

Ya the rain is a real kick to us sportsmen the rivers are raging the ice is going south and no snow makes it hard to hunt rabbits.
kind of glad I'm going to FL, there aint sheet to do around here at this point.

I fished yesterday in rain till couple hrs after rain stoped...still 6-8" good clear ice...lots of open auger hole to fish...was very slick...I'm not even gonna worry  about taking my kids down this weekend

Dude, that blows....sorry to hear that.  What a bad, bad year.  happy to have gotten out when we did.  Temps are going to be colder so just hope and check...again, whether its here or Conditions board, thanks for keeping us updated on conditions.  If I getta chance after work I'll go check and post...may not be until after 8pm tonight though.

Be careful guys i have fished this lake for almost 40 yrs and the shore ice gets pretty iffy when we have a rain event like this week.  You are at the whim of the dam operator and the water can rise and fall with out notice.

Idk where you tried to access but beatifull 7 inches of glare ice no issue whatsoever  accessing from lot.

Looks like the lake has only fluctuated around a half a foot up or down in the last couple days.....1 in of rain recorded at the dam...

went and checked ice this morning before I take my kids later....still good glass ice 5-6" over channel along back road... the first 3-10' of edges have good n bad spots just be picky about where u get out...auger holes are freezing up again ..ice is very slick!!!  I didn't check in front of park but did see couple shanty's out in front ....i'll be down later with my boys

I did a check Friday 3pm at Dorchester park. Any shore water is gone. Walked right on and spudded out 100 yards. Drilled hole and must be 7+". She's good to go folks.

Went out around noon today. Four of us fished the channel with ice at around 5-6 inches estimated. Marked some fish and had some smallmouth slam a tip up however a slow day followed into the afternoon. The walk out to the channel from Dorchester was fine (cleats!!). And this unfortunate event followed:

Mild hypothermia after being in the drink for about 30 minutes. Glad he is ok!

That guy went by me while I was fishing north of the islands. Saw him headed way up towards Upper Lisle and was thinking he's going to hit thin ice if he didn't turn around. There was another boat with him and when I started hearing sirens I figured it wasn't good. Could see the emergency vehicle lights up near the bridge. After an hour and half or so one boat came back down. Glad he is OK.
