OK so I've been looking around for awhile to try and find a topic of pictures of everyones permanent ice shack with not much luck. Maybe I overlooked something maybe not. Anyway... the seasons coming up and I have the bug already so I figured some pictures of shacks would inspire everyone. Post a picture of the shack you made or bought, outside, inside, close ups of inventions and mods etc,...

and thats the inside. Ive done some stuff including a bunck bed over the couch and a coustom cabinet over table but thats the only picture I have of it.

Is that Wissota? My parents just moved to Chippewa and I had one hell of a time trying to figure out that lake last year. Hopefully you have a better idea what to do there than I do!

Boxcar, I've always wondered. How long can you leave those "swing axle" style shantys sit on the ice before you have trouble with them freezing in?

I pull off the pivot points every year before the season starts. I mix never-seize and waterproof grease and glob it on the axle pivot. Plus I have zerks on them too. Personally I never leave my shack on the ice more then 3 or 4 days. I mainly fish weekends with the shack and pull it back home. Never had a problem.

It's was a kit from Fish House Supply. I did not build it. Traded my 883 Harley for it from a guy in Minnesota.

Those are some great looking shacks guys! Pretty pumped for ice fishing although gun season should help take the edge off. Gaudetskie, not to start a side conversation but, how do you like that nils master auger? I am thinking about getting one here pretty soon.

You are NOT alone Layne. The guy with his hand to his mouth is Androwildfire. Him and I have weekly shack time where we have beers in the shack and plan out the season and new shacks. LOL.

Ahhh yes, the old ice shack "safety meeting".. im very familiar with this process. Too funny, your group sounds alot like ours and we're on the opposite side of north america.

My shack has been sitting in the woods for a few weeks now. Perfect for a nice weekend getaway. Got to test out my new woodstove, generator, and tv! Now its out with the shack and in with the deer stand!

heres my 8x8 after it was first built.. it now has foam inside and on a trailer i will post new pix soon

Nice shanty Ice King. Building a 6 x 7 1/2 and it seems big but you got a 8 x 8!

8x8 seems big but i wish i woulda made it bigger by the time me and my buddies get fishing ordering pizza and all of our gear we dont have much room may be adding on next summer not sure yet tho

After you get to the lake, how do you pull it? ATV or Sled? I built a 6x8 this year and I will trailer it to the lake and then plan to pull it out with my ATV.

well once i got it there i pulled it with my yamaha rhino.. this yr i mounted the shanty to an old pop up camper trailer frame and ill pull it to and on to the lake with the rhino
