I fished Bigwood today. The wind was terrible. The ice was good near shore but there is a huge seam right up the middle of the lake.  Some fools were way out by hog island, and all over the lake on ATVs and sleds!!!

???I wonder what size stocked fish is worth your life??

We only lasted 3 hours in the wind. We got a few flags and caught 2 splake.

hey honkie  where were you fishing? we were right in front of sally mountain camps. fished till about 10 or so and called it quits.  could you believe those guys going out to the island   unreal   we were wondering if the wind was going to break up that ice out there and leave em stranded

GIF/HK, We caught a bunch monday ::). Had 6-7" ice, but walked around to flags, traveling w/sled w/o trouble. You can not go west or sw of the boat landing for sure :(. They must have put more brook trout in this year with all the splake b***hin', because we caught them up to 17", but more mediums. Were you guys out monday? It was nice when that raw south wind quit but we always tuck up in the lee of the wind or use a tarp. Take Care, Alan

My first trip to Jackman will NOT be my last!!! That Sally Mtn. Camp is GREAT!! I can only imagine how much better it would have been with better ice, and weather!!

40 mph wind-driven sleet and freezing rain, this morning!

We watched a weasle run around and steal bait and a deer running across the frozen lake. good times!!

Hey Scott, Did you take the new Clam with you?  If so, how did it hold up in those winds?

Mike, no - didn't want to add any weight on the ice. Wish I had, though.
