Ice house to fit in back of truck.
« on: Dec 19, 2014, 03:07 PM »
I don't have a trailer so it needs to be collapsible or small enough and light, I have seen the other ones on here but most seem very heavy or very complex, I would build one on skids but it's a 20 minute drive to any lake I will be fishing any suggestions appreciated.

Here is my personal sized hardside ... perfect for one fisherman but can fit two if necessary. The floor is 4 ft x 6 ft and there is just over 6 ft headroom. Not the easiest but I can load it myself into my pickup truck (standard box) and close the tailgate. I accommodate more people with my Ice Cube hub and/or another larger hardside.

The is an awesome one that collapses to fit in a truck but opens up really large. It is made from wood and looks really spacious and solid.

Even though I don't drive a pick up, I still want to build one! Its very cool. I will try and find a link to it.

This is a link to the video. They are catching some nice perch and walleye, but go to 5:23 to see the hut being taken down and folding etc.

I would like it to be lightweight as well where just one guy could take it out if possible, I have a suitcase syle shanty but I would like a hard side to leave on the ice and not have to worry about it.

If refering to the one I posted, I don't know. It might say in the video, not sure.
