I always have one tied on one of my rods because I know so many people here have complete faith in it. That said, I have only caught one dink perch on it.

Yes it will work.  I prefer jigs with plastics for gills.

I use mine for perch. Tip it with some fish eyes, spikes, or maybe a fat head and you should have a good time.

Used one last season, then I lost it from a snag. Haven't gotten around to replacing it.

i use slender spoons when they stop and stare but don't bite jigs and they works some times. i added drop chains on some of them.

my go to is jigs always.

i really like swedish pimples for perch, but i've never really used them to target bluegill. the smallest CJ&S Slender Spoon has gotten me some monster bluegills and crappie this year though.

I have been fishing pretty much for 57 years. Now that I think about it I have never used a Swedish pimple. As popular as these things have been forever that seems kind of sad. When I fish for gills I normally go to a small jig and waxies. Many times if I am getting smaller ones I always go to a rod I have set up with a slender spoon. Amazing how the size of the gills go up.

i use pimple's all the time. i mostly target crappie with the 1/10th oz ones but catch a lot of blue gills with them too. my three best are pink crushed ice, white crushed ice, and silver with chartruese stripe. you wont catch as many bluegills as you will with a regular jig but when you get one on it you don't have to worry about it being a small one. catch a lot of nice 6 in plus ones on them. usually tip with spikes or a minnowhead.

I grew up fishing Swedish Pimples, but prefer a Slender Soon with a single hook/dropper chain for gills. That said there are times when a Pimple will catch them just fine.

I became a believer for them when I was accidentally catching big bluegills when I was going for rainbows under the ice. I always keep one tied up now.

I've caught them on the number 2 chrome with green strip Swedish Pimples but I've had more luck with a number 10 pink and white Marmooska tipped with a waxie.

Late to the party here, but I always replace the treble with the single Siwash.  Have a few with the hook on a short dropper too.
