Lac Vieux Desert
« on: Jan 03, 2007, 09:38 PM »
Has anyone spent much time on Lac Vieux Desert? I along with 4 of my buddies are going up for an ice fishing trip from January 14 -21. We are staying about mid lake off of South Shore Drive.

I am responsible for putting our group on fish and would appreciate any help you could pass along. As you know, buddies can be brutal if you don't come up with a plan and show some results. We generally multi species fish so we like to move around some so we are not limited to an area.

We fished the lake for the first time last year for a couple of days and did very well on pike, but caught only a few keeper walleyes. In addition, we caught (and of course released) a few really nice Tiger Muskies. The color on the fish we caught was surprising since the water is quite stained.

Thank you for your help. If anyone is going to be around during that time, please feel free to stop by and have one with us.
