Oh it will be !!! They go through ice like its butter. I've never seen a hand auger that cuts that easy.

And if I was the guy going to drive 2 hrs to get one with gas prices....I'd just order it shipping's alot cheaper than gas !!!!!

I could spend all day just browsing at Cabela's.  At least for me, it's always worth the drive.

Let us know how you like the Nils. I just got a 6" shipped to me from Red Rock, it arrived in 2 days. I'm having problems with it, contacted Nils and sent pictures to them last Friday. Have heard great things about these augers, mine will not even drill a hole. Yes, I have read all instructions online and watched the videos. My guess is something is wrong with mine, probabably shipping damage from UPS.

Good to hear the Nils is working for ya! I contunue to hear such good things about them, I will not give up on mine! No pressure here, bought new blades for my Lazer, cuts like butter and good to go. I still suspect shipping damage with the Nils, blades bent out of shape or something like that. Might send the head to the guy in Minn for resharpen/alignment. Good fishing!

Looks like you got your Nils already, but for others in WI who might be looking, check out the Sportsman's Headquarter in Minong.  They have 'em, too.  Not sure how their price compares to others, but their customer service can't be beat.  Ask for John... he's a great help!

You really want to drill some holes with your new Nils, put a powerhead on it.
Mine goes through a foot and a half of ice in about 10 seconds. I have a hand crank handle for it, but haven't tried that yet.

The hand auger alone is around 125.00 to 140.00. Saw a 4" on sale the other day for I think 102.00. With a power head I would think around 500.00

Nils is sending me a new head for the problem 6"hand auger. Anyone know where to get a drill attachment for this? A sweet little auger, would be nice powered with a drill! Any suggestions ?
