There were two four wheelers on the ice..mine and my fishing partner...measured 4.5 inches...3 inches of black inch and a half of white ice on top...no problems...didnt hear the ice crack all day...caught quite  a few pike between the two of us...most under 25 inches...one 29.5....good day on the ice...about 30 to 40 people on the ice...lots of people running for flags...lots of small perch caught.

I was fishing near you with my son. We were fishing close to shore. We caught 3 32 in pike and nice amount of 8-12 in perch. My son had a blast with all the flags we had.

Eel bay is a lot shallower and more protected from wind than Chaumont bay is.  I live right on Chaumont Bay and know there's ice in some spots, but not enough to fish on yet, 3 mile bay is the best bet with a couple inches but we need another good inch or so to make it safe.

The 60 mph wind gusts and sustained winds of 30-35 mph are gonna wreck things here until at least Tuesday when the brutal cold finally comes to this area.

Nice catch guys.
That is a Picture of a lifetime,
My little guy 5'9 is 15 now going on 16 but he still wants go fishing with me. He is a fishing fool, between Open water and Hard water. Start that bond with them young and it will last forever.

Nice pic and nice catch. Haven't' been up in that neck of the woods in a long time...is it me or are the Northern Pike really making a comeback as far as the size and weight? All i remember is an occasional 36 and mostly hammer-handles.

Where is the access to eel bay durring the winter??  I go up to Clayton area every summer and would love to ice fish up there but have no idea where the access would be for any ice fishing up there.

You cross the TI bridge then follow the signs that direct you to the Thousand Islands park. Enter the park and follow the signs to the boat launch
