So...Headed up for our cabin trip to Eel bay with my father and my boys next week.  Whats the ice looking like up there.  I see 2 days in the forecast, tues and wed that looks a bit warm and smow showers before that.  How much snow you dragging through now?  Perch and pike still cruising in there or did the heavy fishing early season (cause no one else had ice) dry it up...lol

Havent heard about the fishing but I can guarantee there is no snow, only had one real snowfall this year and that was only here for a couple days.  My guess would be 10-12 inches of ice.

shouldn't be any snow after the 35-40 degree temps and/or rain the past 3 days.  There's no snow on the ground, let alone the ice!  Should get below freezing tonight predicted at 27. Sat-high of 38, low 16. Sunday- high 30, low 15.

Sounds GREAT....Thanks.  Easy dragging....not killer cold temps....now just gotta find the fish.

Access for LOTI and Goose Bay are both from the State parks right?  Kring point and .....I forget the name of the one on LOTI, but thats where you access those spots right?

3 of us ended the day on eel bay with 12 small pike and 115-125 perch. Many dinks but managed to keep 25 for the frying pan. One was 13" by 10" girth. A monster that ate a pike shiner and treble hook. Will post pics later. Great day out there especially for my oldest son(8) who lives for jigging!

Was up there today. We had a high pressure sydtem roll in snd it pretty much killed the fishing. Had 3 flags all day lost one pike and landed the other. Question is it all shallow and weedy?

I fished the past three days (Friday, Saturday & Sunday).

In all the years we (my son and I) have been fishing Eel Bay, I can't recall ever seeing it as crowded as it was on Saturday! :o :)   After heading in at the end of the day, the guy parked in back of me said it was due to a one day derby.

Friday and Saturday were good days;  lots of flags, 4 small pike and 3 legal. Also, a TON of dink perch.

Sunday was another story:  Decided to venture off from my usual spot and glad I did.  No pike on the tip-ups, 3 small pike jigging in the shanty and.............33 nice fat slobs!

The wife is frying up the perch as I write this.  Gotta go..... :)
