Folks, we had posted this pic on the site prior, but circumstances have changed, so we're posting it again. I'd like to introduce you to the certified National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame Catch and Release Pole and Line Ice Fishing world record eelpout!! It's a Saskatchewan fish out of Tobin. Tobin Lake has found a balance with these fish -- a lot of areas like Flaming Gorge in Utah have catch and kill policies. The smaller ones make outstanding "poor man's lobster" if they're cut into chunks, boiled gently, and served with drawn butter.
Tight lines to all, and enjoy whatever ice you've got!
