The paint job on the fish appears to be ok, however, the form or shape is not that good.  It has more of a bass front, the head area.  Crappie are more rounded there, unlike a bass that is more elongated.

I know when I finally pay to have a nice fish mounted I will be picky about it looking accurate, I wouldn't pay for those.

I am not jealous, and I can catch fish like that, but I don't discredit the actual fish.  The fish are nice, the mount display is nice, I just think if I paid a professional taxidermist to mount fish for me the form used and shape of the body of the finished fish is unacceptable.

Im going to have to go with crappie66..  I think that the fish are a very nice catch but i think they do have a bassy look to the finished product.  The faces should not be that long.  the heads should be more compact and pointy not long and pointy.
they kind of look like rockbass.   the paint jobs are really good also....  I just think that there is something a tad off in the nead region.

Other than that the fish are great.......oh and they are no where near as bad as camo's bass that he got back last year.... he showed a pic of the fish on the oce and then the moint..........the two looked about as far from the actually fish as you could get.

well i guess there is no room for complaints with a price like that, i would do it also.  Oh and my apologies to Camo for saying he had a bad mount of a bass it was Icefingers bass that was bad.

For a first mount of crappie its not bad at all.  Maybe you could give your friend a little contructive criticism about the heads.... it might be me also....  Crappies look slightly different whereever you fish.

tell him he does do nice work.

my neigbor is a taxidermist and he says crappie are very difficult to do.  A good taxidermist has to create his own form for it.  They don't have forms that taxidermist can buy for calico's.  That is where the taxidermist needs to be an artist rather than a "stuffer".
