Icefishinlady and I just might make the trek next year!! We will have enough vacation by then and she and I have been drooling over all the beautiful scenery pics you guys have been showing us. It is mighty tempting. Two days drive there and back and three days for fishing and sightseeing.

Bozemaniceman mentioned getting together at the same time as one of the fishing contests so we could put together a Iceshanty team.  I checked the F&G website for fishing contests

The Canyon Ferry Perch Derby is on January 26th & 27th.  The entry is only $5 per person or $50 per team on Sunday.

I think that could be a lot of fun but I would be most interested in picking a date when the most people from the shanty could make it.

The Canyon Ferry Perch Derby is a blast.

I fish it every year and it's a good time.

Lots of people on the ice and a good time beer drinking at the awards area and mingling with the other derby entries.

Last year me and my buddies placed three perch in the top ten.   Paid for the beer anyway.

What I said was that the Canyon Ferry Derby sounds fun, even if it isn't the get together.  Count me in if we have ice by then. :tipup:
