What do you catch most of your fish on ? Jigs or Tip Ups ?

i catch most of my fish on jigs but havent really used tip-ups that much yet. just bought a couple new tip ups and will see how they do for early ice pike and walleye

Tip up's for me.  But it stands to reason as I normally put out 4 tip ups compared to my one jigging pole.  The odds are in favor of the tip ups  4 to 1.

When I jig,I normally out fish my traps. But I normally fish traps.  No doubt jigging produces more fish consistantley.

I catch most of the numbers of fish on jigs, because I jig for perch and I catch lots of them.  When I target trout or pike I use tipups.  Just depends a lot on how much ice we have and whats on the bite.

jigs..haven't really used tip ups much. not many bodies of water near me with pike

Jigging, when I set tip-ups it holds me in one area. I have a tendency to wander, my biggest fish are on tip-ups, but most are on jigging.

I love to use tip-ups but since almost all the lakes I fish only allow one or two lines at the most, I dont seem to get as many fish as Im able to jig up....it's hard to strategically place a single tip-up, where as I move a lot when jigging

I catch more jigging, but 99% of my big pike are on tip-ups.  Wish I could have more set out though too, only allowed 2 lines.  I usually have two tip-ups out for pike, and as it gets closer to evening I pull one and jig for walleye.  And it depends on the lake/species I'm fishing, sometimes I primarily jig.  The only fish I use tip-ups for are pike, lake trout, and burbot.
