I have seen these tipup beepers at Gander Mountain this year for one-third of last years price. Has anyone used them and how do you like em?

I got a set about 2 years ago. They work really well, the newer version works alot better than the old ones did for reception. They are nice at night because even if the reciever doesn't beep (which only happens when I forget to turn it on, or bump the switch) there is a bright blinking red light on the tip-up unit. I ordered mine directly from Strike-sensor, really nice guys, and they threw in a hard carrying case. I would recommend them, its pretty cool when the beeper starts going off, gets the blood going!

I got one of those for christmas a few years ago. I got it all set up put the reciever in the breast pocket of my ice suit and went to drill some more holes, I bent over to clean out a hole and.....you guessed it out of the pocket and down the hole!

I have a set of four. Don't leave home without them. I added a small piece of aluminum to my polar and HT tip-ups for the sensor to be rubber banded to. They work awesome, and up to 600 feet away.
At night I am able to sit in the house and play Pinochol, when the pager goes off, you look out and see which tip-up is lit.
It also allows for me to focus my attention on my jigging rod, instead of constantly scanning for flags. Theres nothing worse than having other anglers hollering "hey dude in the shanty, you gaot another flag!". That will never happen again!. Get em if you can!

Works well for cribbage too! ;D I superglued a piece of velcro on my beaver dams and on the sensor. Works great, just have to remember to pull em off before going for the fish, I don't want the sensor goin in the hole like mod_auger's pager! :P I almost did the same thing, I had the pager in my front zipper pocket of my carhartt bibs with the antenna sticking out and the zipper worked it's way open. Luckily mine skidded across the ice, not down the hole.

Ole Saint Nick stuck a pair of HT Tip up lights in my Stocking. These are the pin battery type. They appear to be right on what I had in mind. I know these are not the paging style being referred to here but they do look like they will serve the purpose. They are bright enough to see from a good distance and the trip mechanism is unique with no mercury switch to worry about dropping in the hole.
