This season we are going to do things a little differently.
Shawn and I will choose a suitable location with ample parking.
We are going to try and avoid any scheduled dates for our derby. As soon as we have safe ice and the advanced forecast looks good we will post the date for 2 weekends later.

Hopefully we will have a better ice season this year !

OK after checking some lakes that we might have this derby at . I hit 3 1/2 to 4 inches of ice one of the lakes someone on here said it was 4 1/2 to 5 only had 3 1/2 to 4 . So after talking to Doug on Sat when we hit 5 + inches of good ice. Then we will get the ball rollen. I can tell you this the lake will be in Sussex County

Parking is key Doug, I can't tell you how many great lakes in NJ have crap for access or parking!

Yes the Five lakes I'm looking at have parking for 20 or more car's with a bait shop's around them

I was at Green Turtle on Sunday. There were guys fishing it. The road down to the pond was iced over. You would need a 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive to get back up to the main road.

So far the forecast is looking good. Shawn is still checking local lakes and as soon as we have a date we will post it.

OK guy's it looking really good I have it down to four lakes. YOJ"s on RT 206 is going to be one of the Sponsors in this years Derby & we'll see if we can get some more Sponsors. So if you go in to YOJ"s tell Terry thank you. We will have the lake & day picked on Sat if all go's well . We're trying for Jan 31

Perhaps if Simon Peter and YOJ are sponsors it should be at Cranbury or Areoflex.

Not for nothing, but I thought Dows was pretty good when we did it there two years ago. Whats up with that?

Dow's was great.

We decided to try a different lake this year. We can switch them up as we like. This way we all get to try a new lake and meet/befriend new sponsors.

I have some good news. I managed to get a "loaner" unit from one of our site sponsors.

I will be demonstrating it at this Saturdays derby from 7:30 - 9:00 AM.

You'll have to show up to see what it is.
