I caught this at Budd Lake today.  Is this an odd marked chain pickeral?

Im not familiar with pickeral but isnt there three species of them, chain, redfin?...and?

That is cool.  I have caught more Pickerel than I care to remember over the years, but I never saw one marked like that.  Thanks for putting up the picture.  Definitely unusual.

That's different, the head and eyes say pickerel to me but where is the green? My guess is a chain pickerel with an albino gene - so albino chain pickerel. Cool pic/pick!

When I was a kid we used to fish in this dye house soft water intake. We used to call it the Square. It was a concrete square attached on one side to a dye house and the intake was to a brook.  It had mutant fish. Some had eyes that buldged out some actually made laughing noises. All were wierd. Maybe I should submit this place to Wierd NJ.

I never ice fished it because in the winter we used it for a hockey rink.

That is definitely a pickerel!  I have caught and seen others caught that have the same markings.  It must be a genetics thing!  I caught one that was about 2lbs in Lake Aeroflex this year that looked just like the one in your picture.  Good luck and tight lines.
