Small water warning
« on: Feb 18, 2011, 07:47 PM »
The small lake I fished wednsday was worse today. Could get out ok at 1pm but put a plank out just in case. Glad I did cause at 7pm it was futher then I would want to try jumping. The holes I augered wednsday were still 6 inchesI wide not bigger. 8inches soft white 2-3inches black with ponding, runoff and some surface melt when the sun was out. Remember if you use my plank to get out it won't be there when your leaving so bring your own.

Next come the ladders, first the short ones, then longer and longer.

Try this... Put on your hip waders, bring a step ladder, know the bottom where you intend to "get on" and hope it still a good spot to get off when you are done.
It goes without saying, you take your plank / ladder with you, my sled's have a rack and have been set up that way for 35 years.
The middle always goes last, its the shoreline that's the problem.
