Any reports from down that way? Finding decent enough ice here in east central Indiana with basically the same temps.

I can't help with Shakamak or Greene Sullivan but Eagle Creek in Indy was locked up everywhere except near the dam and I saw a couple of people out on Griffy Lake in Bloomington today.

I can help.  I own 9 pits between linton and jasonville in varying sizes.  As of today, there is no safe ice.  Big pits even have open water still.  Bays have around 2.5 inches but it isn't consistent.

Bhahahaha!  You tell’em Don.  No safe ice, stay away.  LOL!

I found 4” solid clear ice in both places I fished today and I’m an 1.5hrs south of GS.
I even know a group of people who ice fished by Holiday World today!

Go get it while you can.

The thousands of pits in this area are different.  They are very deep (One of Mine is 81 feet) and they have a a black muck bottom.  Don't kid yourself.  The ice on most of these grows much slower than lakes even south of them.

Another update.  As of tonight, there were 3 hard inches of ice on Greene Sullivan pits where water was not in the open and subject to wind.   Places like Shakamak will have more this weekend for several reasons.  Bait store outside Jasonville is open and has minnows and behemoths.
