I went with Handy Randy to the Martinsdale Reservoir today. 4wd to get to the boat ramp and no further. If you f=did not know a lake was there you would have not fished. 16 inches of snow on the ice and wind blowing to beat hell. No shelters. We fished like men! Only a few hundred yards from the boat ramp, if you could find it. 10 feet of water. Shovel the snow and 3/4 auger had you wet. No one was there!!! Cold and nasty but awesome fishing!!!! An inch of worm and a couple maggots did the trick. Several 20 plus trout were iced. # hours of fishing and we were done. Got stuck on the way out. Chains are a good idea but the fish fought hard and were fun.
Great fish and great fun! Only saw a few cars on the way up from Bozeman.

Great stuff! Snow drifts were really bad about a month ago when I was there. Gotta love those fat healthy trout!
