I like them for a few reasons.
1. Keeps my bait horizontal, or pretty close. I set it so the nose if slightly pointing down as if it were nosing around on the bottom.
2. Pike eat the bait head first. With 2 hooks on the quick strike, the end one goes in the head of the bait and the second one in the middle of the body to hold it horizontal.
3. Doesnt matter what size of bait I use, that rig will fit all different sizes of bait and they all hold the same way.
