Fished st point yesterday started out deep found fish in 50ft east of marina.  No limits but big fish.  Slush was bad multiple break thru's even the snowmobiles were getting bogged down.  Trail back in was littered with small slush beds and a large slush hole had opened up 100 yds out of the marina.  When we left the lot a quad had gottin stuck in that slush hole I'm sorry I didn't come out to help but I was out of gas.  C you out there next week if weather permits.

Out of sturgeon now. 50' and nothing on the screen. Everyone is moving around. One smelt so far.
If life were easy everybody would have one.

How's the window/parking shifter angler population holding up down there? I know a few weeks back in took us a good 45 minutes to finally get away from being chased around the lot while we were bleeding out of our fingers and nose from the fun ride out and back.

Great day out there today! Great weather great fishing. Me & my partner both limited out 60 ft of water. Ride out nice  but 2 real bad slop holes outside marina jammed us up pretty good on way in. Could be over soon w these temps , hope not , a few more weeks would b nice !!

Vexilar on sale 25% off at cabelas I got the fl-20 with the camera normally 1050 bucks marked down to 780 guy told me it was 25% off of the marked down price told the cashier and 5 min later the manager said they would goner the deal just over $500 felt bad hope the guy doesn't get fired I didn't give them a hard time at all I was surprised they actually did it. But with my situation aside still some good deals if anyone was waiting for the right time to buy one. Gunna test it out this weekend and see what all the fuss is about with these contraptions lol

Fished last 2 nights after work at st point -- I stopped short of the guys in 60 foot Monday night because I hit a slush field -- seen them Monday night in marina they all had 30-40 a piece -Monday night stuck three times - bring a shovel -Yesterday was easy in till 100 yards from harbor -- slush 3 foot deep everyone stuck at 6 pm -- pain getting out

lots of fish being caught off catt creek --
Does not play well with others

DeadHead, I picked up a FLX-28 at Cabelas for 25% off. It was a great deal, I had the guy put it on hold for me and got it 2 days later. Glad I did, there were no more 28s when I got there. I am hoping to try mine out also. keep a tight line.

I also got the Fl-28 from cabelas, ultra pack marked down 25% which would have been 700 with tax. I will sell it next week for $525 which it will have been used about 5 times because I really want the Marcum combo but can't find anywhere.

And just to be clear we were the ones fishing next to the Amish out there.  I bet that was the first time you saw Amish Ice fishing on Lake Erie. Well if you were there today like we were.

Tried to go out of hamburg and turned around after mile.   Went through 100yard long slush water pit... once we seen 2nd one we called it.   2 sleds kept going where we turned around.   Went to catt and lot of water on ice.   Imo today was last "safe" day unless we get some cold to lock back up.   White ice was getting soft as well

I sent a telegram to Norman Shetler and his 5 kids today. His horse had a hard time working through the 200 yards of slush and it took him an hour to pick axe through the 36 inches of ice, but he mustered up a few hundred perch for table fare.
Sent me some bees wax candles in return along with lard filled dougnuts.

Dang were you out there too? I would have gladly came over and had some of your crock pot cooking. we fished 100 yards from your Amish friends today. Will need Hip boots to fish out there tomorrow if you dare go out there. The Amish did get about 12 perch today though, they are definitely the ice masters of the Catt. If they ever go to sturgeon you boys better look out. Im sure you must have gave ole Norman the same fishing tutorial you gave Mr. Dance. Your a good man.

It was Babe Winkleman, not Bill Dance. Dance catches garbage fish like bass, while us true sportsman and anglers target walleye and perch. Like Babe. Do we need a tow bar for the buggy if we're going to use a horse to tow out stuff out there? Helmets? DEC will be waiting to write tickets if Ole'Bessy isn't registered and inspected.

It's not registering and inspecting Ol' Bessy that's the problem, its screwing the license plate to her back end that can ruin your day.

Oh, and don't give NYS any ideas.  I can see it now: "Mandatory registration of any conveyance 1 horsepower or greater."
If my advice sounds good, you probably need more practice.

Would they charge you for salvage if your horse went down to the bottom of the lake like they do for atvs and sleds? Would there be non stop threads titled "trash on ice" if the horse took a hefty dump on the ice? Do you need to put chains on their hooves if there's deep drifts? What happens if you feed rusty baked beans from my propane crockpot and you're riding behind him?

Charge you to salvage him?  Just name him "Seahorse" and a good attorney will get you out of that one.
Trash on the ice thread?  Yes, because the word S**T wouldn't be allowed on this site.
Chains on the hooves? Hell Yes, have you ever tried pushing a stuck horse out of a hole?  One good shove and my arm stunk for weeks.
I can't reply about your baked beans, but following my buddy (who, in all fairness, is larger than a horse) on the ice after canned bean night should be banned by the Geneva convention.

P.S.  Bill Dance is only good for blooper videos.  I'm with you on Babe, not only can he hunt and fish, but is wise enough to marry a woman that can cook a shoe into delicious 5 course meal.  We could all learn a thing or two from that man.
If my advice sounds good, you probably need more practice.
