Everybody keeps asking the same questions. Nobody is answering long because the ice isn't ready yet!!! All the snow on the ice is hampering ice growth.

I just talked to skip at Hogan’s hut. He said guys are fishing long point but not far out as ice is spotty in areas. Anything north of that is not recommended other than mayville. He said mayville has 4 inches good ice lots of slush then 2 foot of snow. Said the wind won’t help much. I’m gunna drive down tomorrow morning but would really appreciate any updates from anyone local between now and then

Can't speak for any area of the lake except for south end. I live directly across the lake from Smith Boys. Haven't ventured out more than 500 yards but the ice is a solid 6 inches and no slush. Fortunately it locked up well before the heavy snow came. Going out this evening.

I’m set on Bemus for tomorrow I have multiple reports of safe ice. Now the drive getting there tomorrow worries me but if the ice is good I gotta try it’s been two years since I drilled a hole with these warm winters. Only thing that would keep me home is unsafe ice

I may be crazy but has anyone seen the Burris bay web cam? It  looks like there is almost no snow on it and just this morning was covered..... maybe the wind did help a little bit

Saw one hut on the Burtis cam.  Not the tower climber, (don't know if that is still up). It was on the Chautauqua lake cons page

Fished this morning off Bemus point. 12 foot of water 4-5 inches of good ice about 2 inches of slush pocket and only 6 inches of snow. Plenty of action all dinks though. Was great to get out though. Kept getting suspended marks on the vexilar probably crappies but couldn’t get them to hit my minnow heads.

I’m here. Was out fishing. I wouldn’t say there is that much good ice. Found a few spots the spud went through with only one hit. Is getting better though. No snow on the ice past the first 50’. Fillet knife definitely needs to be sharpened.  :icefish:

Heading to the soup pan in the morning. Jig up our limit of eyes, then head to the reef for perch. 
Packing light except for the propane crockpot to feed the 8 of us.
