Can anyone tell me if bemus point has any decent ice? It's the only spot I ever fish on the lake and I usually did decent there

Saw a bag left behind so I grabbed it. Can't tell who's a local but I am and to me it's all the same. Plenty of scum locally.

Hello All,
I would also like to get down to Chautauqua Lake this weekend too. Where on the lake is fishable ice? I am coming down from the Buffalo area so any pointers are welcome, as it is an 1-1.5 hour drive for me.

Depends on snow... calling for 8-15" of snow from now until friday. hopefully the wind can take some snow off the ice. and then maybe, just maybe. the cold temps can repair the ice and we may be able to get out on the weekend. i have my doubts though.

Temps go back up in the 30s next week. Hoping everything locks up this weekend and doesn't thaw out again next week

I posted on C&R board 10 min. ago that the lakecam is showing beautiful conditions in South basin,no snow on ice and like a sheet of glass,don' t know how thick.Weather is gorgeous looking also,partial sunny blue skies and not a snowflake in sight!

I think most people go here.  Parking is on opposite side of street from boat launch.

  I guess it's been so long since I posted I need my 3 again.
So, Where does the walleye fishing take place? A  friend of mine has been coming over there for 6 years and has only caught 1. And he's a good fisherman. But he brings home tons of perch.
 His trick for bigger perch is Buckshot spoons.

GameHog gave it a go yesterday and got wet! The ice is layered from the rain and snowmelt raising the lake level.Now the lake has a blanket of snow so the water inbetween will never freeze.Please don't go alone and make sure you have all the safety equiptment if you are thinking of trying the N.basin.Latest report from Hogans Hut on Mayville is still open water,the only safe areas are from Burtis bay to Lakewood,you should bring your spud for there too! The ice will be gone by next Friday if forecast is correct??After Monday the temps are to be in the 40's with rain the rest of the week. It looks like we've been cursed by the Ice Gods again,I'm looking at Canada again,(Simcoe)youtube reports say that ice is still sketchy!Stay safe and on top guys!

That's a bummer for the ice there..My son recently moved to Jamestown ans was looking FWD to fishing chautaqua..Hopefully cold weather moves in
