They are not fishing Narragansett Bay They just dont want to post the spot. To avoid crowds

That's what I thought. Always wondered though back in '94 I remember the bay freezing solid, especially places like Greenwich bay etc. They had to bring icebreakers in to get the tankers to Providence. Anyone try to catch anything saltwater ice fishing? Be tough probably but interesting if you could say you caught something.

I have to post this... I was showing my 5 year old daughter these photos, and when we got to pikemasters photo, she said "dad, I caught bigger fish than that." priceless!

Years ago,
I read a story in field & stream or outdoor life of ice fishing around middle bridge for stripers!!! Never tried it though!
I know there used to be schools of white perch in there.

you can get smelt saltwater. they do it in maine on tidal rivers. i hear its a rush when the tide drops and all of a sudden the ice drops down a few feet under you!
