Winter flyfishing
« on: Jan 21, 2011, 11:07 AM »
I know this is probably not the best post for ice fishing, but I've been out on the ice a few weekends in a row and am craving a flyfishing fix in our province. Does anyone know if the Whiteshell river is frozen solid in the winter? I'll head out there to fish Hunt and other lakes in a couple weeks and am wondering if it's worth packing my Tenkara rod as well. Thanks
Miguel

I watched guys doing this in NY once on salmon rivers.  Not sure where you could do it here.  Anyplace where the rivers stays open naturally (rapids, ground water upwelling) or un-naturally (below a warm water discharge point - ala Selkirk).
