Good day i had a brief period of rain earlier enough to cause puddles and leave the asphalt wet same thing early yesterday evening. I have not watch news and weather forecast so not sure if the rain is from what remains of Hurricane Barry or my area will see more rain this weekend when temperature high is forecast to be near 100.
Eddie were you able to lay any marble blocks today or have to find an alternative job. So long you do not receive any bills for parking pass or ticket violations. ::)
Ice Wanderer Happy Birthday any special plans to celebrate the day.How are the grandchildren doing with the swimming lessons. Interesting story with the Thurman Munson sign I looked up where in the ADK.'s Thurman,NY. is located. Maybe WS'S beer drinking client also has a third kidney.
Wallyworld sorry to hear you got stuck in traffic headed to the Boston area. Congratulations to your grandson and his teammates. Hope they get to play today's game. I find it interesting how currently at the Major League level of baseball there is so much concern about pitcher's over working their arms and seeing a starter throw a complete game has become a thing of decades past. Yet at the youth level a child can pitch one game and then play a position the next game where they are likely to be using their arm muscles again on a frequent basis.
Hunts2long congrats on catching a few fish good job sticking it out in this hot weather. Has your company arrived yet.
Icefisher-45 your worker's comp. case is sure dragging on may you see some movement on it and your S.S.disability claim before Summer's end.
IFF due you also have high humidity or just the heat I went through a few days with temperatures i the high 90's during one of my visits to relatives in Casper,Wyoming. Since the Rocky mountain states usually have windy days i did not get soaked with sweat like here in NY. when we have both high temp. and humidity have to remember to drink liquids throughout the day to stay hydrated. Anymore raccoon captures in your trap.
Tom Turkey is Gerber baby food company based out of Michigan .I know your state is home to Kellogs. May you see some rain and a break from the heat  a lot of the U.S. is experiencing lately.
Whopper Stopper Thank you for reminding all of us about Ice Wanderer's birthday. Like Tom Turkey I'm surprised your town lets you live in your house with a deck outside of the sliding door. hope the tree work is not to major enjoy the Jack Links. The weather sure causes some fog in your back yard surprised the camera functioned with all the humidity.
Raquettedacker I read over on MFF about your problems with the collar bone healing  have you seen any improvement of might you be heading for surgery.

Now the sun is back out have to see if I receive another period of rain later today. Everyone stay safe and be careful when outside in these hot and humid conditions.

Good Morning Everyone,
Damp and humid 68* this am, high of 75 with rain expected throughout the day.

Steve...we got the whole day in yesterday laying marble. Other than a couple sprinkles, the heavy rains didn’t hit until we were picked up for the day.
Jeff... hope you had a wonderful Birthday Sir!
Marv...nice job on the cake and Jeff’s Birthday!   You’ve got those videos timed perfectly, could watch them all day. Thanks for sharing them here! They sure have been and continue to be a great addition to the thread, excellent job Sir!
I-45...hope you’re feeling a little better today!   You asked about how long it would take to lay the 200 stones left. With everything running good...2-3 days for the demo, 4-5 days setting, 2 days to point up and caulk joints.  Roughly about 10 days with good weather.
Wally... hope you’re having a great time with the family and grandchildren, hope the weather held up for the baseball game.

Yesterday’s sticky weather here reminded me of Florida again....it was kind of nasty with the humidity and dew points. Tomorrow’s weather through the weekend will be very similar with high temps to boot.
We had a reporter from the local newspaper ( Times Union )swing by our area on Tuesday asking us a few questions and taking some pictures. Yesterday, part of our crew made the 3rd page with a small write up under the picture...The Egg was in background!   ;D
  Time to get ready.....Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good morning Eddie! Good morning everyone

76 back into the 90's with thick air. They claim next week Les will be rolling in for an extended stay ??? I hope they are right.

Eddie glad to read you are making it through the week OK  Thanks for the comments on the videos, glad everyone is enjoying them. Some times when I go through the cards it seems it's a lot of the same things, then all of a sudden I notice a different twist. Stay hydrated Sir! It's almost time to grease and slide into the weekend.

IW hope you found a cake and some candles yesterday

I am going to do a 4 mile walk today, then not sure. I have a couple of jobs insurance dependent. I'm not sure on the one as to if I even want it, guess I am getting lazy.

Hope you all have an excellent day  Stay safe.

Morning all,

The rain moved in here at the exact same time as the start of the ball game so it ended up getting canceled 😞 but we had fun playing games at home so it’s all good!!

Looks like a hot sticky weekend in store for most of us, hopefully that weather won’t hang around too long.

Have a good day at work or play. Stay safe.

We celebrated my birthday on Tuesday night, since all of my grand kids were here and their parents came to pick them up.
Not much going on to day, my wife has to get ready to go to her son's tomorrow, then she is going to her mother's on Sunday for a few days.
Her mother wants her to come before my surgery, I haven't gotten a date yet, if I don't hear by tomorrow I will make a call to push it along.
I hope everyone has a good Thursday either at work or out.

Good evening  rain throughout most of daylight hours tomorrow higher temperatures arrive along with the humidity . Saturday's heat index forecast to be 110 hopefully all of us do not see more of this weather before Summer ends don't know how people in the Southern U.S. survive between the heat and humidity.
Eddie good to hear the rain held off until after your work day .Though I'm sure the crew and you would prefer to be inside during this heat wave.
Whopper Stopper watch yourself when on the walks and cut back on distance if needed in this weather. Did your wife have her eye pressure test yet.
Hunts2long thought your SIL and her daughter would stay a few days given the distance they travel to visit. Hope you receive a good report on the blood work.
Wallyworld glad your safely home how was the traffic. Sorry your grandson's ball game got canceled.
Ice Wanderer good idea to celebrate your birthday on Tuesday since your sons or their wife's had to come pick up their children. Safe travels to your wife.
IFF so you mostly deal with high temperatures  still unpleasant . May you see some cooler weather for a few days before it makes it's way east.

A safe night to all.

Good Morning Everyone,
Humid and 66* this morning, high of 90 here on the Hill today. Heard a weatherman say “ it’s going to be an oppressive weekend with searing temperatures. “  Guess that sums it up pretty well... ;D

Steve...doubt you would hear any complaints from the guys if they had to work inside today... ;D. Heard the same thing on the heat index, it’s going to be pretty nasty.
Bud... hope you got the checkbook balanced out...wonder if that is taught in school anymore?
Jeff...we were on demo yesterday, by 8am we all looked like we fell in the pool lol. Everybody hung in there though, and by lunch we had all of the stones out of the main area we’ve been working on.  Safe travels to your wife today!
Wally...sorry the weather canceled out the game, was looking forward to hearing about your grandson pitching. Hope you’re having a wonderful time, safe travels home!
H2... hope the blood work went well yesterday.    We’ve got some additional marble around the pool edges that needs to be done, much bigger stones than we’ve been laying that require a lift to pull and set. After that, quite a bit of work left on the concrete and more work at the Mansion....we’ll be busy until the snow flurries come!   ;D
I-45...we’ll be trudging through the heat today as long as possible, the early start helps getting as much done as possible while it’s cooler. We should hit our numbers before lunch and be off the deck before it starts cooking.     We supply our own drinks.
Marv...it’s nice to be in the position to pick and choose your jobs now, good luck with the estimates if you feel like doing them!  Hope everything went well with your wife’s eye appointment!

It’s going to be a hot ending to the week, the weekend is going to be pretty rough, but cooler weather returns for next week, so that’s a plus.
It looked like we were going to get wet a few times yesterday, but the rain missed us all day and we had a super productive day despite the tropical conditions.
Time to get ready for the last shift... Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good morning everyone

Another scorcher today with heavy storms all around this afternoon.

I bought a new laptop which came Wednesday afternoon. We have been transferring files for the last 18 hours. That's why there wasn't any videos yesterday. With any luck it should be ready to go later today.

My wife sees the specialist today at noon. Everything points to surgery, know more later.

I am heading to the shack in a few minutes, time to mow.

Hope you all have an excellent day  stay safe.

         Good morning Eddie, WS, ER's,
It's 67* and overcast up here on my hill, it will burn off and be a scorcher. ::)
Eddie........I hope you all have plenty of water.Gatorade to stay hydrated. ::) ::)
Marv.........Like Eddie said, you're in a good position to pick and choose your jobs, but I think your up for challenges, good luck with the estimayes. :flex:
What kind of computer did you get? ??? Tell Jo good luck on the exam today from the ER crew.
Bud..........Good luck with the checkbook, sometimes it's a real brain teaser trying to find where $.50 went. lol :roflmao:
H2L..........I hope you get good results from the blood work.
Last night my wife and I went to The Lake George dinner theater, it was The Hounds of The Baskervilles, held at the Holiday Inn. It was a 3 man show
and was put into a comedy, we had a good time.
Not much going on here today, my wife will be leaving around 11 am.
I hope everyone has a good Friday either at work or out on some water.

70* but right now there is a light breeze.
Mr. Clean, 24 hours is about all they stay. That is about all I can take of her daughter, she talks non-stop and most of it is about herself.

IW, haven't been out since Tuesday, but planning on next week after it cools off. Already checking the maps for some new spots to try. Glad you had a good time a the dinner/theater. Wife asked me to find a place (with a/c) for lunch today after her Drs. appt in Albany. I guess she doesn't want to cook tonight in the heat. I told her we could go set at a  picnic table at Jumping Jacks....lol

Everyone stay cool. Not sure how Eddie is going to do that....h2l

Good Morning Everyone, Today is supposed to be the start of a heat wave. Prayers for first responders and elderly people and people working outside in this heat.

Ice Wanderer, I don’t think i’ve ever heard of the Hound of the Baskerville being a comedy. Nice to see there are theatres still around. Prayers your wife has a safe trip.

Hunts2long, Prayers for your wife today that the appointment goes well. Hopefully you find someplace cool after the appointment. Is her daughter going with you?

Whopper Stopper, Prayers that your wife gets good news from the specialist. What type of laptop did you get? Enjoy your videos.

Mason Eddie, Hope you have a productive day today and everyone stays hydrated.

I hope everyone has a great day and everyone stays hydrated. Tight lines to those on the water. God Bless

Talked to my brother last night. Told me he was staining some boards the other day. Walked out of his garage beside his car, caught movement on the other side of the car. A bear stood up on the other side of his car. He said it was head and shoulders about the car. Bear went "woof" dropped to all fours and walked out the driveway...h2l

Morning all,

WS......congrats on the new laptop  hope all is good at the shack  ;)

IW.....sounds like a fun evening   safe travels to MrsIW

H2L.....hope the appointment goes well for MrsH2  :)  safe travels & enjoy the a/c wherever you end up stopping for dinner  ;)  bet your brother was a little  :o  to see the bear looking at him   :woot:

Eddie.....hope you get thru the day w/o any heat related issues  @)  is there a certain temp/humidity level that is deemed unsafe for outside work  ???

MrC....traffic was pretty heavy on the drive home also, not sure why   guess more & more people "work" from home  so they're free to travel whenever it's convenient for them  :-\  wouldn't be too bad if everyone was on the same page when it comes to driving habits, but there's always some hot shot race car wanna be in the pack  ::)

IFF.....hope you got that checkbook figured out  ;)  no fishing yet  ???

IF45.....do you have a/c in your new home  ???  it was pretty steamy outside at my son's place.....the central air inside is priceless  @)

TT.....have you had a chance to spend any time on the water yet  ???

The roads were busy on the drive home yesterday and there was some rain on and off, but we made it home in one piece   took time to unpack and stretch a bit, then hopped on the mower and drove around for another couple of hours  ::)  we picked up another 1 1/2" of rain in the 2 days we were gone, lawn is once again pretty saturated

think pressure washing the deck is on the to do list this morning before it gets too hot out  :flex:

Have a good day at work or play. Stay safe.

Another nasty one again today. I opened up the door at 5 am to see if I could use a fan to bring in some cool air. The heat and humidity hit me in the face as it was still 80* with a dew point of 75* when I checked. Some relief is guessed for next week. We will see how that goes. We can not get any rain as it dies coming over the big lake

I had a good visit with my nephew the other day. There were not as many great grand kids around  but my brother was kept busy trying to keep them in line. Mission impossible! My nephew was sitting with one of his cousins in her deer stand when they heard something in the brush. She said she hoped it was not one of the bear cubs or the sow that are around. It ended up being a wood chuck to their relief. She showed him a picture of a cougar from one of her game cameras. I am going to get ahold of her to get a copy. They have been around there for at least 15 years but the DNR likes to deny they are any where in the lower.

Steve. Fremont is the home of Greber's Baby Food. They have been good to the people of the people due to their givng back to the comunity and the state. Handling some of thier raw product at a freeze plant was the start of my back problems. I think if you look at their latest baby on thier product it is a baby with downs syndrome.

ww Thier were three king salmon weighed in at as sport shop in Ludington this week. A 30.5, 31.6 and a 36.76. All from the same charter boat. If you are on face book you might be able to see the picture by seaching Captain Chuck or Chucks. This edge I have on this computer will not let me copy and paste.

IFF When our mother passed my brother wanted to know if I had balanced her check book. I told hiim NO as I was to busy taking care of her and trying to make a living.  The nephew I mentioned above is a CPA. He took a small caculator mom had and a few of her bank statements. His hand flew on the little calculator. In less than 5 minutes he said it is only 18 cents off so nothing to worry about.

H2L We had a bear go through a back yard a block away form us last week. later that day it was seen  n the east side of the lake. When we were on our way home from seeing m nephew the other day we met my son on his way home from work. i gav e him a call. He said he had just seen around a 150 pound bear cross a side road. We went that road but it was long gone.

I hope every ones doctor appointments go well.

My lawn needs mowing but it is not getting done untill Les shows up.

ww I see you had psoted while I was typing. I have not had the toon away from the dock since I put it on. Too hot and humid to fihs for me. Fall is comming SOON I hope!!!!

Good evening another hot, humid nasty day here heat index was 108 around 4 PM according to Weather Underground . We had a single engine plane crash across the Hudson river near the Dutchess county airport. All four people on the plane survived the crash and were taken to area hospitals.
Eddie good thing you start your work day early when it is slightly cooler is there a temperature/heat index level where your work day will end for safety reasons. I'm curious what happens to the old marble blocks.
Whopper Stopper all the best with new lap top. I thought you might be worn out from doing a tree job so did not check your game cameras or they quit in the heat and humidity. Hope your wife got some answers to the future of her eye health from the specialist.
Ice Wanderer I'm not to familar with Hounds of the Baskervilles interesting that someone thought to put a comedy spin on the play.
Hunts2long I have friends and relatives like your niece so understand your feelings. glad your brother was not attacked by the bear had to be an exciting yet scary moment.
Wallyworld  there seem to be a lot of driver's with race car driver mentality these days I've had others pass me in no passing zones because I was driving slightly under the posted speed limit. Did you beat the heat pressure washing your deck.
Tom Turkey glad you got to see your nephew before he heads back to VA. Thank you for info.on Gerber baby Foods.
IFF it feels good to sleep in every so often. Surprised you have an AC unit my relatives in Wyoming have something called Swamp Coolers sort of mix of humidifier and AC . I forget the reason why they do not have AC units.
Icefisher-45 hope you and your wife are doing alright in this weather.

A good night to all may everyone get through this heat wave in good health.

Good Morning Everyone, Sleep isn’t being my friend tonight. Headache is still bad and my neck and arm haven’t been the same since I had the exam with the court Doctor. Still can’t believe all this happened because of a slip and fall. My wife isn’t happy about that and she wishes she had pushed to be in the room. We have several fans running it is still hot. My wife is home the next few days. Her hrs have been cut back.

IFF, I hope you got to sleep in and stayed cool.

Tom Turkey, Hopefully you can get the toon out before the fall.

WallyWorld, Did you get to pressure wash your deck?

Hunts2long, That’s good the bear just walked away. My wife thinks we might someday have a bear on our stairs. We have a bird feeder there.

I hope everyone has a good day and manages to stay cool. Supposed to be hotter then yesterday. Tight lines to those on the water. God Bless.
Take a kid ice fishing

Good morning I-45, Dr. Speckler, ER's,
It's 73* and humid here on my hill, I hate the heat. ::)
I-45/Dr.Speckler.......I hope you can get some sleep today, the mind and body need rest.
Bud..........Did you find the error in the checkbook. ???
Eddie........I bet the heat down there really drained you and the crew, get some rest today.
Steve.......The Hounds of The Baskervilles is a Sherlock Holmes story about murder in the mores of England surrounding the Baskerville family.
I saw the original movie back when I was young, it sort of was scary.
Wally........I've noticed more traffic than normal on the Northway on weekdays, I think people are taking advantage of the summer of summer
vacations. ??? I don't have any AC, I generally cool my house at night and keep windows shut for a while during the day to keep my house cool.
H2L.........I hope the new spots turn out to be good ones to add to your list of fishing spots.
Yesterday I called down to the VA and got my surgery date, August 15th, I have to go to  a class for replacement parts in your body, ??? then do
a consolation with the surgeon on the 5th.
I'm watering my lawn now then my #3 son and I are going to put up a cell phone booster that came the other day, but first we are going to set it
up at his house to see if it works for him, then he will buy one for himself.
I hope everyone has a good Saturday either at work or trying to stay cool.

              IW

74* and no breeze.
Wife's Doctor visit went well. No blood work and no follow-up for 6 months.
It is way too hot for me. Glad to see it may end after Sunday.
WW, glad you had a safe trip.
Ice-45, I know this heat isn't helping you very much.
Everyone stay cool and drink lots of water.
Daughter is bringing the dogs up today for their first swim, we will see how that goes....h2l

Good Morning Jeff, Doc, I-45, Morning Everyone.
75* and climbing with high humidity and dew points this am, high of 94 here today. Guess you know it will be hot when Saratoga Race Course cancels its race card for the day! .https://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=AwrE19zc4zJdcdIAODvBGOd_;_ylu=X3oDMTByNXM5bzY5BGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMzBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzcg--/RV=2/RE=1563645020/RO=10/RU=https%3a%2f%2fpoststar.com%2fnews%2flocal%2fexcessive-heat-warning-for-weekend-saratoga-cancels-racing%2farticle_3b12ed49-f07d-5849-a9cd-c55264e17e53.html/RK=2/RS=Av1ejxrmMU2Ly6VfkWgiz7qiex0-

Jeff...honestly, we were all surprised with the early morning weather conditions yesterday, expected the worst. Cloudy and a nice breeze until about 8am was a huge plus even with the high humidity. We all made it through the day without any problems other than soaked T-shirts and sweaty jewels, lol. Hope the booster works, not familiar with them. Glad to read the surgery date is set, fingers crossed this one will solve the problems....best wishes Sir!
Doc...best wishes that fever breaks soon and you get some much needed sleep,  got to be brutal with these temperatures!
I-45...hope it is documented somewhere what took place with the Dr. that did the exam on you. Are you going to try another treatment with the acupuncture?
Steve...I’m not 100% certain what happens to all the marble pieces after our demo, but have heard it is ground up into marble chips at the facility it is taken to. It would be interesting to see how they separate the marble from the cement bedding and concrete attached to it if that is the case.
Marv...good luck with the new computer! Will be anxiously awaiting the new videos!
Tom...glad you had a nice visit with your nephew, hope the nasty weather out there let’s up soon so you can enjoy the Toon.
Wally...we don’t have any specific guidelines to follow as far as the weather is concerned. We all keep an eye on each other and take breaks when needed without any questions. Welcome back and glad you had safe travels home with the busy traffic.
H2...that bear must have made your brothers heart skip a beat, wow! My neighbor has had a few problems with one getting into the garbage, that ended when they realized keeping it in their garage was better idea.   ;D. Hope the new spots work out well for you!  Glad everything was A-Ok with your wife, great news!!

Finished watering the garden in between posting, lots of wax beans are ready to harvest. Peppers are coming along pretty well, especially the jalapeños, tomatoes are slowly getting there.
Lawn mowing soon before the heat gets too high, weed whacking can wait...it’s just plain sticky hot out there.
  Cawfee’s on...
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Steve swamp coolers are less expensive to run, evaporates water, which is the process of refrigeration, ads humidity though.  A/C unites uses a compressor and fan motors so more electric used.

Not yet Jeff, its on the back burner for now

Hum 90 % of America is over 90*  Hit 101 here yesterday.

Off to work have a cool one all
