Maximum length of male pike?

How big can male northerns get? I have heard conflicting reports, some which say only 30" and some which say a small % can get into the 40's.  I saw a 41" that had a verrrrry skinny body (somewhere between 13 & 15lbs) and wondered if it was a rare big male. Thanks for any thoughts.

Well let me be funny here, i highly doubt there is a gene that stops male pike from growing over 30 inches... I'm sure they can grow to many different and various lengths and weights.... For someone to state males only grow to 30 inches is ridiculous..

Caught a 38" male last year that weighed 9.5lbs.  Keyhole anus so I know it was a male.
