first year ice fishing

I'm just starting out ice fishing and am looking for any good ideas for walleye bait and rigs for tip-ups

for me I would say good luck. I got creek chubs and creek shiners. I jig lindy and chubby darters or jig a good sized chub on a leadhead. 2 years ago I did good the two times I jigged chubs. have not got good ice for last season and this one has been poop.

yeah i been hitting the smaller reservoirs around bradford pa and caught two big trout on minnows jigging a castmaster and a little cleo

rumor has it that the PK spoons are good for walleye.  Bought my first ones this year and my buddy caught a small (not legal) walleye in Wallenpaupack this past weekend with it - no bait just a glow spoon in 20' of water.  The videos on the PK site are pretty impressive but i guess they are on some canadian lake where the walleye will bite anything.  Someone on this site said that it is their favorite lure so there are some believers out there.

Try a local bait shop. Most times there is someone in there that will help you and give advice. Also check out some of the other posts, there are some good ideas out here.

I also like using swedish pimples tipped with a fathead.
