Marcum Snow Shield
« on: Feb 13, 2013, 08:50 PM »
Anyone have a mod to make them fit a little tighter?  Bought 2 of them, 1 for the VX1 Pro, which fits ok, and 1 for the LX5 which fits pretty loose.

Thanks
Arlo

I put a couple dots of 100% silicone caulk on the inside in 4 spots. Let it dry and when you put it back on it makes like little rubber snubbers that hold it on and you can still remove it for cleaning

I put a wrap of black electrical tape around the dial of my VX-1. It is tight, but I can easily remove it if I have to.

Glad to see I am not the only one with this issue.  I'm going to try the silicone.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Mine is loose too and I think a lap or two of tommy tape around the outside of the dial might work for me. The darn thing falls off ten times per day it seems and spends most of it's time in a pocket.

I used a few small pieces of 3M double sided tape to hold mine on.   ;D
a 1/8" x 1/2" long piece on several of the ridges around the outside of the dial worked great.

I just used a rubber band around the outside of the circular flasher screen and now the snow shield fits snugly over it and doesn't fall off.
