this is pretty funny. I totally get the need for this idea.
True story.
I have been fishing Nantucket with this one guide for 15 years or more. He has a few boats and they all communicate via VHF and some cell. For years, I would hear him tell his other boats, "what a beautiful day" when asked how the fishing was. The truth was it usually was a nice day out and I never even picked up on the code. Fast forward a few summers ago. I did the capt a favor or so and we really became buds. He then told me that "its a beautiful day out here" or "it really beautiful down by the airport" meant that not a damn fish was in sight. Now when we are in a slump, I kid him, come up to the wheel and say, "capt - beautiful day today, eg?" and give him a big smile. He gets a kick of out that.
